The house where General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was born and raised is located in Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi . The house is close to the main gate of the village, the exterior is covered with laterite brick walls, a typical product of the old Northern Delta countryside. The house is built simply in a level 4 architecture with red tile roof, which is also a typical architectural style of the Red River rice countryside.

In recent days, groups of people from all over the place have flocked to Lai Da village, standing in front of the house where General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was born and raised to pay their respects, after learning of the General Secretary's passing.

Mr. Ngo Huu Nghia - permanent resident of Co Chau village, Van Ha commune, Dong Anh district, is living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. After hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's death, he immediately returned to his hometown and went to Lai Da village to commemorate the General Secretary. "I am extremely saddened and regretful at the passing of Uncle Nguyen Phu Trong. We, the people of Dong Anh in particular and the whole country in general, have special feelings for him. His passing leaves behind much regret for the nation and the country, because now our country is in dire need of an honest and upright leader like him" - Mr. Ngo Huu Nghia sadly shared.

Dong Hoi Commune Party Secretary Le The Chuyen informed that according to the funeral plan of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Dong Anh district will arrange 3 locations for people to visit the General Secretary. Of which, Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune is one of the three selected locations. Military forces were also mobilized along with local people and environmental sanitation units to clean and disinfect the roads leading to Lai Da village - one of the three main locations where the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will take place in Dong Anh district.

To prepare in advance for the possibility that people from everywhere will flock to Lai Da, the village has also developed a plan and reported to superiors about the arrangement of forces to guide people when they come to visit to ensure security and order" - Secretary of Lai Da Village Party Cell Nguyen Phu Viet said.

The Magnolia tree, planted by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong himself at the Lai Da Village Cultural House in 2007, will also be one of the places arranged by the local government for people to visit when they come to Lai Da after paying their respects to the General Secretary.
