People from all over flocked to Lai Da village to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The house where General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was born and raised is located in Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi . The house is near the main gate of the village, its exterior covered with laterite bricks, a characteristic product of the old Northern Delta countryside. The house is simply built in a level 4 architectural style with a red tile roof, also a typical architectural style of the rice-growing region along the Red River Delta.

In recent days, crowds of people from all over have flocked to Lai Da village, standing in front of the house where General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was born and raised, to pay their respects after learning of his passing.

Mr. Ngo Huu Nghia, a resident of Co Chau village, Van Ha commune, Dong Anh district, currently lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City. After hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, he immediately returned to his hometown and went to Lai Da village to pay his respects. "I am deeply saddened and mourn the passing of Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong. The people of Dong Anh in particular, and the whole country in general, have special feelings for him. His passing leaves behind much sorrow for the nation and the country, because right now our country desperately needs an honest and upright leader like him," Mr. Ngo Huu Nghia shared with a heavy heart.

According to Le The Chuyen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district will arrange three locations for people to pay their respects to the General Secretary, as planned for the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Lai Da village in Dong Hoi commune is one of the three chosen locations. Currently, security forces have set up checkpoints on the road leading to Lai Da village to control security and order, ensuring that the funeral preparations by the logistical support forces are not affected.

Military forces, along with local residents and environmental sanitation units, were mobilized to clean and disinfect the roads leading into Lai Da village – one of the three main locations where the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will take place in Dong Anh district.

According to Nguyen Phu Viet, Secretary of the Lai Da village Party branch in Dong Hoi commune, the village mobilized forces to clean the entire cultural center area... ensuring environmental hygiene during the funeral days and serving the large number of people coming to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

"Following the directives of the Dong Anh District Party Committee and the Dong Hoi Commune Party Committee, we have mobilized the masses to participate in environmental sanitation work. To prepare for the influx of people from all over to Lai Da, the village has also developed a plan and reported to higher authorities on the arrangement of forces to guide people during their visits to ensure security and order," said Nguyen Phu Viet, Secretary of the Lai Da Village Party Branch.

The magnolia tree, personally planted by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Lai Da village cultural center in 2007, will also be one of the locations arranged by the local authorities for people to visit when they come to Lai Da after paying their respects to the General Secretary.

For the people of Dong Anh in particular and the people of the whole country in general, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a leader who was thrifty, honest, and upright, with a simple lifestyle and close to the people. The passing of the General Secretary leaves immeasurable sorrow in the hearts of the people.
