Queue to visit Hoa Lo Prison

Hoa Lo Prison is an old historical relic of Hanoi. As the afternoon progresses, more and more people come to visit, causing Hoa Lo Street and surrounding streets to be packed with vehicles and people queuing.

Tour guides must separate lanes and guide people to line up to buy tickets quickly, avoiding traffic congestion.

Ms. Lan and her family came from Nghe An to Hanoi on the first day of the holiday (August 31). She shared that this holiday is long so she organized a tour for her children to visit the capital. Yesterday, her family lined up to visit Uncle Ho's mausoleum and today went to famous historical sites such as Hoa Lo Prison and Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam so that young people can understand the culture and history of the country.

"Although the travel was tiring and there were lines at the attractions, my children were very happy. Luckily, the weather was cool today, the morning was cloudy and there was no sun so it was less hot.

These relic sites all haveeducational significance for the nation's cultural and historical traditions, so I believe that the children will learn many useful things to strive to study better," said Ms. Lan.

Sitting in a prison cell for female prisoners listening to stories about revolutionary prisoners, Minh Tuan (Ha Dong, Hanoi), a 5th grade student, expressed his impression when hearing about the first wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap - Ms. Nguyen Thi Quang Thai, a Vietnamese revolutionary activist and former political prisoner who died in Hoa Lo Prison (1942 - 1944).

It is also the touching love story of two steadfast communist soldiers, Hoang Van Thu and Pham Thi Van (Hoang Ngan), both of whom were imprisoned by the French colonialists in Hoa Lo prison and sacrificed their lives at a very young age, leaving a great impression on many young people.

For the convenience of visitors, the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Management Board has prepared headsets for each area.

Many young people and children visiting the relic site for the first time expressed their emotions at the stories about revolutionary soldiers who were imprisoned and subjected to harsh imprisonment, but still fought bravely and steadfastly for the nation's independence and freedom.
