Google's support page indicates that users in Vietnam will also be able to use this feature. The dark web reporting feature was previously a paid feature, only available to Google One subscribers. The dark web reporting feature uses algorithms to scan digital links, thereby determining if users' personal information has been leaked and then removing results containing personal information from search results. This data includes information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email accounts.

According to Google, this feature will be located on the “Results about you” page when users access myactivity.google.com. This is a useful feature, especially for users who have been victims of hacking, data leaks, or identity theft. In late March, 7.6 million AT&T customers had their information leaked onto the dark web, forcing the telecommunications giant to reset all user passwords. AT&T stated that the leaked data dated back to around 2019 and included personal information such as names, home addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and social security numbers. The dataset did not contain personal financial information or call history. Affected users received emails from AT&T offering to reset account security, monitor activity, and report their creditworthiness. However, the US carrier has yet to determine the source of the data leak. Other internet services such as Proton Mail and LastPass have also been equipped with dark web monitoring features to identify leaked user information and passwords.
