(NLĐO) - On February 9th, a video was shared on social media showing a person in a traffic police uniform repeatedly shouting at a young woman.
The clip shows a man in a traffic police uniform repeatedly saying to a girl, "Are you deaf or not...?"
At this point, the girl kept saying, "Yes, I understand. Let me ask my friend..." Then the man replied, "Are you guys messing with me?"
The image went viral on social media.
The clip, shared widely on social media, negatively impacted the image of traffic police officers, and many expressed sympathy for the girl who endured the man's harsh words.
To clarify the above information, a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper spoke with the family of the girl in the video.
According to the girl's family, on February 7th, she and another person rode a motorbike from Tan An City ( Long An province) to a college in Ho Chi Minh City to submit their application. Since it was her first time, she used Google Maps to find her way.
Around 7 PM that same day, they returned. When they reached the Nguyen Van Linh overpass (in Ho Chi Minh City), a person in a traffic police uniform asked them to stop because they were driving on a restricted road.
"She was supposed to run onto the bridge, but because she didn't know the way, she ran down to the road below the bridge," said a family member of the girl.
In addition, this person also stated that the girl did not have her driver's license with her (she had passed the driving test but had not yet retrieved it), and that she was driving a car that was not registered in her name (the car belonged to her father).
Reporters are currently contacting the girl and the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City to further clarify the information.
