The Giver of Life

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Amidst the vibrant life of Sam Son beach town, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh (born in 1987) still regularly dedicates time to a simple yet deeply humane act: donating blood to save lives. For him, the blood he gives not only signifies sharing life, but also a way to express love and spread compassion to the community.

The Giver of Life

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh donated blood voluntarily.

I met Mr. Tuan Anh at a provincial blood donation event; he was quite simple and approachable. He shared: “Blood donation is a humane act. In the past, our ancestors were willing to sacrifice, sparing no blood or bone to win independence and freedom for the nation. Today's young generation lives in peace , so donating blood to sustain the lives of our compatriots is something we should do and should be encouraged.”

Speaking about how he came to volunteer blood donation, Mr. Tuan Anh shared that he learned about it through the media and various information channels. In 2015, he decided to donate blood for the first time. The feeling of nervousness when entering the blood collection area, the warmth of receiving encouraging smiles from the volunteers, and the joy of knowing that his blood could give patients a chance to live, became the motivation for him to continue his charitable journey.

Since that first time, he has regularly participated in blood donation drives organized by the local and provincial authorities. After some time donating blood, he became a member of the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion and Advocacy Club. Subsequently, he joined the Thanh Hoa Blood Donation Club and the Thanh Hoa ABO Blood and Platelet Club.

Throughout his time participating in various clubs, he has braved rain, wind, and late nights to donate blood whenever needed. Not stopping at whole blood donation, he has also actively participated in platelet donation. To date, he has donated blood 33 times, including 13 whole blood donations and 20 platelet donations.

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh said: “I participate in blood donation clubs to stay informed about patients who need blood. When someone needs it and is in good health, I always try to be there quickly to donate blood, hoping to contribute to saving patients' lives in a timely manner.”

From an individual who learned about blood donation through the media, Mr. Tuan Anh has become a positive force, spreading the word about voluntary blood donation in the community. He has received numerous awards for his voluntary blood donation work. Most honorably, in 2025, he received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for his outstanding blood donation achievements. These awards are not only personal encouragement but also proof of his compassionate spirit and responsibility as a citizen to the community. His story also demonstrates the practical effectiveness of public awareness campaigns, showing that a humane message, when conveyed correctly, can touch hearts, transform awareness into action, and from individual action develop into community strength.

Looking back on his journey, Mr. Tuan Anh remains humble and optimistic. He considers himself fortunate to have good health, so in addition to voluntary blood donation, he also participates in fundraising activities to support poor children, people in difficult circumstances, and goes to flood-affected areas, disaster-stricken areas, and disadvantaged regions to assist the people. Sharing his plans for the future, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh affirms that as long as he has the health, he will continue to be involved in the voluntary blood donation movement and humanitarian and charitable activities.

In his journey of spreading meaningful actions, Tran Tuan Anh's simple, quiet deeds have contributed to building a compassionate community, ensuring that drops of blood continue to flow, extending life and hope for countless people. At the same time, he spreads the message of a young generation living responsibly, knowing how to share, and acting for the community.
