Mr. Do Huu Phuoc, Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee, said: Previously, on the sidewalk of Pham Van Dong Street, there were iron pillars arranged for boats to tie ropes and moor. However, during the construction process of the sidewalk renovation and upgrading project invested by the Phan Thiet Area Construction Investment Project Management Board, these anchor pillars were removed.

Due to the lack of safe anchor points, many boat owners are forced to tie ropes to the railings of embankments or the foot of Tran Hung Dao bridge to secure their vehicles, posing a potential safety risk, especially in the current complex stormy weather conditions.

Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward has sent a document requesting the Thanh Hai Border Guard Station to coordinate in inspecting, disseminating information and reminding ship owners not to tie anchor ropes to railings or bridge footings. At the same time, instructing people to anchor their boats in the right position, ensuring safety during the rainy and stormy season.

The Ward People's Committee also recommended that the Phan Thiet Area Construction Investment Project Management Board direct the construction unit to temporarily arrange suitable anchoring posts to facilitate safe anchoring of boats while the project is not yet completed.
Regarding the weather situation, storm KALMAEGI is currently active in the sea east of the Philippines, and is forecast to enter the central East Sea area on November 5 with wind speed of level 13, gusting to level 16-17, heading towards the Central mainland - where heavy damage is being caused by floods.
On the local side, to proactively respond to storms and post-storm floods, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward requested relevant units to urgently and closely monitor the warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the storm. Along with that, the Ward Civil Defense Command is required to closely monitor the situation and weather developments; be on duty 24/24 hours, promptly inform and warn the people. Review areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation; organize the evacuation of people to safe places when necessary. At the same time, prepare forces, vehicles and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto to respond and overcome incidents.
Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee also requested Thanh Hai Border Guard Station to notify captains and owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur. Heads of residential groups mobilize people to reinforce their houses, protect production, business, service establishments, etc.
