Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his official visit to South Korea, the first visit by a high-ranking Vietnamese leader to South Korea since the two countries established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022, Mr. Kim Jin Pyo expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries will develop even more strongly in the future.

The former Speaker of the Korean National Assembly highly appreciated the decisive and effective leadership and management of the Vietnamese Government and the strong development of the Vietnamese economy in recent years. In particular, GDP growth in 2024 could reach 6% – the highest in the region.

Mr. Kim Jin Pyo announced that he, along with the Korea Global Innovation Research Association and other Korean agencies, will be proposing several projects and cooperation plans with Vietnam in the near future.

Specifically, this includes continuing support for the expansion of Hue Central Hospital (following the program to support Hue Central Hospital's second facility); a plan to build a medical personnel training center in Central Vietnam; providing Korean language and vocational training for Vietnamese youth, especially in nursing, so they can work in both Vietnam and South Korea; exchanging experiences on the application of artificial intelligence in education; and supporting connections with global innovation activities…

Welcoming these proposals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he would instruct relevant agencies to continue specific discussions with the Center to implement concrete cooperation projects and programs.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope that the Korea Global Innovation Research Association and the Vietnam National Innovation Center would strengthen cooperation, exchange experiences, and participate in each other's innovation ecosystems in a practical and effective manner.

Emphasizing that Mr. Kim Jin Pyo has always been a close friend of Vietnam, the Prime Minister said he was ready and eager to meet him again in Vietnam to review and continue implementing the work that had been discussed, contributing to promoting friendship and good relations between the two countries.
