Dung Quat Oil Refinery is the first oil refinery in the country, playing an important role in laying the foundation for the petrochemical industry and contributing to ensuring national energy security. Up to now, Dung Quat Oil Refinery meets over 30% of the country's gasoline and oil demand.

Since Dung Quat Oil Refinery came into operation, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, the unit that manages and operates the plant, has processed over 100 million tons of crude oil, produced and sold over 91 million tons of products to the market, meeting over 30% of the country's gasoline and oil demand. Total revenue reached nearly 1.6 million billion VND and paid nearly 224 trillion VND to the State budget, equivalent to more than 9 billion USD, 3 times the investment level. Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company has contributed significantly to the revenue and profit of Petrovietnam and the budget of Quang Ngai province.
