Before the final two rounds of V.League 2024/25, Song Lam Nghe An Club (SLNA) received information when Tan Long Group, the main sponsor, announced that it would stop accompanying after June 30, 2025, the time the sponsorship contract officially ended.

Tan Long's withdrawal puts SLNA at risk of financial difficulties to participate in the next season.

In the context that the Nghe An team is ranked 12th on the rankings, only 2 points more than the two bottom teams, Binh Dinh andSHB Da Nang, the pressure to avoid relegation is heavier than ever.

In addition, a series of key players such as Olaha, Khac Ngoc, Van Khanh, Vuong Van Huy and Le Van Thanh are also facing the possibility of leaving the team when their contracts expire right after this season.

Amidst the difficulties, SLNA continues to face personnel changes when it says goodbye to two Japanese experts, including Technical Director Hideaki Shoji and physical therapist and doctor Kawaguchi Kentarou.

Mr. Hideaki Shoji, born in 1970, joined SLNA at the beginning of the season. He studied professional coaching in Brazil in 1999, holds a level B coaching license and a goalkeeper coaching license from the Japan Football Association.

During his time working at SLNA, he repeatedly appreciated the development potential of youth training in Nghe An.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kawaguchi Kentarou was born in 1996 and graduated from Teikyou University (Japan) majoring in Medical Engineering.

Before coming to Vietnam, he worked at professional sports clubs in the US and Japan. The contributions of both experts are considered positive in improving the physical strength and professional quality of the team.

In round 25, SLNA will host Hoang Anh Gia Lai at home. In the final round, SLNA will face SHB Da Nang, a direct competitor for relegation.

SLNA’s most urgent goal at the moment is to successfully stay in the league. Only by staying in the V.League can the Nghe An team think about making big changes next season. Otherwise, the future of one of the most traditional football teams will be in a very uncertain situation.
