Musician of 'Cho Satisfy You' - Mac The Nhan passed away

Talking to us, relatives of musician Mac The Nhan said he passed away on August 8 in An Phu Dong ward, Ho Chi Minh City, at the age of 86. Previously, in 2020, the male musician was hospitalized due to a stroke.

The passing of poet and musician Mac The Nhan has left many friends and colleagues heartbroken. Sharing with us, poet Ha Dinh Nguyen confided: “Musician Mac The Nhan has returned to the motherland, as the name of his famous song Tra toi ve ”.

Poet Ha Dinh Nguyen said he often met the author of Cho hoa long em at year-end meetings of the Music Copyright Protection Center (Southern branch) or the year-end meetings of the Tao Ngo Bang Huynh group (a gathering of musicians, composers, singers, artists... of old Saigon).

“Because he lived in the suburbs and was in poor health, he was often taken to such gatherings by his son, Phan Anh, on a motorbike. After a while, when he did not appear, I called Phan Anh and he said that the musician had suffered a stroke, had just returned from the hospital, was still very weak and could not answer the phone. It has been 5 years since then, and today I received the bad news that he has passed away,” poet Ha Dinh Nguyen confided.

Musician Mac The Nhan's career

Poet - musician Mac The Nhan, whose real name is Phan Cong Thiet, was drawn to art from a young age when he participated in school art activities. At the age of 17, he entered the Saigon High School of Music and Dance and studied with famous musicians such as Tham Oanh, Hung Lan... His first song was Trang que huong (Homeland Moon) followed by Vui tan anh lua (Fire at Last).

In his composing career, musician Mac The Nhan left behind many songs, notably Em ve voi nguoi and Cho hoa long em . According to the revelation, the song was originally called Cho em hoa long . Musician Nhat Ngan then gave comments, made a few corrections and changed the title to Cho hoa long em , and signed his name as Phan Tran. Talking about the name Mac The Nhan, the musician once explained that it means "contributing a drop of ink to life".

According to information from relatives, the burial ceremony took place at 7:15 a.m. on August 9. The funeral ceremony took place at 6:00 a.m. on August 12. After that, the musician's coffin was cremated at Phuoc Lac Vien (formerly Binh Duong ).
