The night of author Hoang Cuong (taking place on August 24 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music) was attended by Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Long, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music... along with the family of Associate Professor - People's Artist Hoang Cuong, many colleagues, and many generations of his students.
According to Mr. Hoang Ngoc Long, the Hoang Cuong Author Night is an opportunity to look back and honor the contributions of musician Hoang Cuong to Vietnamese music , and also to congratulate the musician on his 80th birthday.
Musician Hoang Cuong and the orchestra greeted the audience late on the evening of August 24.
Hoang Cuong's music night at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music left many emotions
The night composer Hoang Cuong performed 3 of his important works, including the piano concerto - Klavierkonzert performed by pianist Nguyen Bich Tra; the 5-movement symphony Kiep luan hoi (both of these works are his new compositions performed for the first time) and the overture Mua xuan the ky .
The concerto Klavierkonzert and the symphony Samsara were the highlights of the concert, bringing a lot of sublimation.
Musician Hoang Cuong has made great contributions to Vietnamese instrumental music composition. Throughout his career, he composed nearly 50 works. His instrumental compositions are considered to be of high quality, and many of his works have been performed in academic music programs at home and abroad.

Associate Professor - People's Artist Hoang Cuong studied music abroad before returning to Vietnam to focus on teaching and composing. The Hue -born musician studied at the Maxim Gorku School and the Carl Maria von Weber Conservatory (Dresden, Germany), the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Moscow, Russia) and the F. Chopin Conservatory (Warsaw, Poland). For his contributions to instrumental music, he was honored to receive a total of 12 instrumental music awards from the Vietnam Musicians Association. In 2017, he received the State Prize for a group of 5 instrumental works including Memory of the River - Waterfall - Song of May - Drum of the Citadel - Quintett .
