Musician Le Anh Tu (Ho Chi Minh City Music Association) informed Tuoi Tre Online : musician Vinh Lai, born in 1942, active in branch 6, passed away on February 19 due to a stroke.

The late musician's wife passed away a long time ago and he had no children, so his family brought her back to their home in Can Giuoc district, Long An province for burial on February 20.

According to the Vietnam Musicians Association, musician Vinh Lai's real name is Vo Thanh Khoi, born in 1942, and used to work at Ho Chi Minh City Television Station.

In 2012 he was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts.
