Vietnam U19 got off to a good start at the Southeast Asian U19 Championship with a 3-0 victory over Timor Leste U19. However, the challenge for coach Yutaka Ikeuchi's team has only just begun, as they will face Myanmar U19 in the second match of Group A.
Compared to U19 Timor Leste, U19 Myanmar is considered to have a higher level of physical fitness, the ability to play high-pressure pressing, and good defensive organization. In their opening match against host nation Indonesia, considered a championship contender, U19 Myanmar confidently played offensively and created numerous opportunities.
Unfortunately, despite having a good game, the Myanmar U19 team conceded a goal due to a defensive error in the 39th minute, subsequently losing morale and ultimately suffering a 0-3 defeat.

Despite their heavy defeat in the opening match, the Myanmar U19 team is not easy to deal with. In particular, they are in a desperate situation, needing to win against Vietnam U19 to have any hope of advancing, so this is predicted to be a very difficult match for Cong Hau and his teammates.
Nevertheless, the Vietnam U19 team has enough confidence to defeat the Myanmar U19 team. In addition to having a full squad, the Vietnam U19 team has also adapted to the pitch conditions and weather.
From a technical standpoint, in recent training sessions, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi has primarily focused on improving coordination between lines, enhancing the ability to capitalize on opportunities, and strengthening concentration in defensive organization.

The Vietnam U19 team aims for three points, but also prioritizes safety and the rational distribution of energy in hot weather conditions. Compared to their opening match, the Vietnam U19 attack needs adjustments, including more diverse and effective methods of penetrating the opponent's penalty area.
U19 Myanmar is clearly a formidable challenge, but if U19 Vietnam plays to their full potential, they can absolutely secure all three points, opening up a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
The match between Vietnam U19 and Myanmar U19 will take place at 4:00 PM on June 4th at the Sumatera Utara Main Stadium (Indonesia).
