On the evening of May 9, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that the unit had set up an inspection team to investigate the incident in which many 12th grade students of Cao Ba Quat High School submitted applications for leave of absence and reserved results right before the high school graduation exam.

Previously, many parents reported that after working with the school, their children with poor academic performance "voluntarily" wrote a request to leave school and reserve their results. Later, some parents asked for their children to return to class but were refused by the school.

Ms. HMB (mother of HGB, a 12th grader at Cao Ba Quat High School) said that on April 15, after the results of the second midterm exam were released, the homeroom teacher invited the mother and daughter to meet the principal. After that, B. quietly wrote a leave of absence letter.

After that, Ms. B. texted the homeroom teacher to ask for her child to come back, but the teacher said no because the principal had approved it.

On April 29, Ms. B. continued to meet the principal and was informed that her child B. was not approved for the exam because he did not pass it, so he had to repeat the school year.

In addition to student B, two other students, YTA and YLE, also wrote applications to stay after being invited to work by the school. Currently, both have dropped out of school to work for hire.

Regarding this, Mr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, added that the Department has asked the school to explain and the school leaders affirmed that there was no such thing as mobilizing weak students to drop out of school to increase the graduation rate.

"However, the unit will send a delegation to the school to verify and clarify each of the above cases," said Mr. Hiep.
