Quang Ngai Provincial leaders attended the opening ceremony but did not beat the drum or give a speech to keep the ceremony short and meaningful.

On September 4, Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, said that the provincial leaders will visit 16 schools, from the plains to remote areas on the opening day, but will not give a speech or beat the drum.

" The President has sent a congratulatory letter on the opening day, so the spirit of the provincial leaders is to visit and encourage teachers and students, so that the opening ceremony is short and meaningful," said Mr. Tuan. According to him, the drumming and speeches will be done by the teachers.

Instead, provincial leaders gave flowers and gifts to teachers or scholarships to poor students who overcame difficulties.

Similarly, many Departments of Education and Training in Da Nang have directed schools to organize the opening ceremony of the new school year in the spirit of "brevity, without speeches from leaders at all levels".

The agency also noted that the principal's speech should focus on welcoming students to school, and briefly state the school's traditions and achievements, as well as the tasks and goals to strive for in the new school year. In addition, the school should focus on discipline and order, and not release balloons during the opening ceremony.

On the morning of September 5, more than 20 million students nationwide will attend the opening ceremony, officially entering the new school year. Schools are instructed to organize the ceremony in a concise and time-saving manner, taking about 30-45 minutes.

Some common contents of the opening ceremony include welcoming students to the first grade; saluting the flag, singing the national anthem; reading the letter from the President; welcoming speech by the principal and beating the school drum (one round, three beats). Schools can also perform some interspersed performances, suitable for the age of the students.
