At 5:30 a.m., Ms. Hoang Thi Ha (Tay Mo, Hanoi ) received a text message from the principal of Lomonosov Secondary and High School informing that all students of the school would continue to study online because heavy rain had flooded many streets around the school.

About 6 hours earlier, around midnight, she also received a notice from her son's homeroom teacher at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School about online learning on October 7.

"It rained heavily all night, it felt quite similar to September 30. The thunder and lightning were even more intense. However, because they had the freedom to decide, my children's school notified them very early. Since last night, the school texted parents, promising to finalize the study plan at 5:30 this morning. So I set the alarm. Everything was very proactive, I felt secure," Ms. Ha expressed.

Ms. Luong Thi Van Trang (Hoang Mai, Hanoi) also said that since 5am, Kim Giang Primary School and Kim Giang Secondary School - where her two children are studying - have both informed students to stay home. The primary school alone does not conduct online classes because the school is concerned about electricity usage problems during storms for young students.

According to a survey by Dan Tri reporters, schools in the wards of Cau Giay, Yen Hoa, Ha Dong, Thanh Tri, Giang Vo... have all announced early school closures, before 6am this morning.

On the morning of October 7, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the next 3-6 hours, Hanoi and neighboring areas will continue to have moderate to heavy rain, with total accumulated rainfall ranging from 20-70mm, in some places over 100mm.

The meteorological agency warned that this rain will cause localized flooding for some roads and streets with the greatest flooding depth commonly being 20-40cm, some places being deeper; the flooding will last until noon and early afternoon, some places being flooded longer.

Rainfall in the past 6 hours in Hanoi was generally at 40-80mm, higher in some places such as Soc Son station 116mm, Thuong Cat station 91mm,...
