The joy of owning a new home.
Visiting the Tan Ha 2 Resettlement Area (Phuoc Ha commune) in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), we felt the joyful atmosphere filling the new houses. Ms. Ta Yen Thi Nguong shared: “Previously, my family lived in Ro On village, our main income coming from growing corn and doing odd jobs, which was very difficult. The whole family of six lived in a cramped, dilapidated house. Thanks to the support of the Party and the State, from July 2025, my family moved to the resettlement area. The new place is near the main road and schools, making it very convenient for commuting, shopping, exchanging goods, and for our children's education. Stable electricity, water, and internet access not only help people in their daily lives but also in accessing information to apply science and technology to production more effectively. Everyone here is excited.”

Ms. Ta Yen Thi Biet is happy to have a warm home for her six children, providing them with a safe place to live and play. Their previous house was only a little over 30 square meters . To have enough living space for eight family members, she and her husband had to build a temporary shelter behind the house. After receiving land and financial support from the government, they borrowed nearly 200 million VND from relatives to build a sturdy and spacious house. “Here, besides the land for the house, we also have land to grow vegetables and raise poultry… Compared to our old home, the new one is much better,” Ms. Biet shared.

Sharing similar feelings, Ms. Ma Gio Thi Kich was very happy to move to her new home. Ms. Kich said that her and her husband's economic situation was so difficult that from the time they got married until their children grew up, they did not have the means to build their own house. They had to live in her parents' house in Tra No village, which was only a little over 30 square meters, very cramped and inconvenient. When they received land and financial support to build a house, they managed to borrow nearly 80 million VND from relatives to build their new home. "In September 2025, my family moved to Tan Ha 2 Resettlement Area. It's convenient and lively here; there's electricity, water, internet... My youngest child attends kindergarten only a little over 100 meters from the house, which is very convenient. With a new, sturdy house, my family no longer has to worry about finding temporary shelter during storms... Now my husband and I can focus on doing business and developing our economy. My family is very grateful to the Party and the State," Ms. Kich shared.
Policies stemming from the people's will.
Phuoc Ha commune has nearly 9,000 inhabitants, of which almost 45% are ethnic minorities, living concentrated in the villages of Gia, La A, Ro On, Tra No, and Tan Ha. The lives of the people mainly depend on farming and hired labor, and they still face many difficulties. Before receiving support for land and housing, many families lived in cramped, temporary thatched houses.
To stabilize the lives of ethnic minority households facing housing difficulties, using funds from the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, at the end of 2021, the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province (formerly) approved the implementation of the Tan Ha 2 Resettlement Area Construction Investment Project. In December 2024, the land and technical infrastructure of the resettlement area were completed. From July to September 2025, 20 households that met the conditions for land and housing support moved into the resettlement area. In addition to the support from the State, the households also contributed additional funds to build their houses to be more spacious and comfortable.

The completion and operation of the Tan Ha 2 resettlement area has helped realize the aspirations and dreams of many ethnic minority people in Phuoc Ha commune for a sturdy, spacious home. With stable housing, people can work and produce with peace of mind.
Mr. Kieu Tan Dat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuoc Ha commune, said: "In order to help households in the commune, especially those in the Tan Ha 2 resettlement area, to quickly stabilize their lives and develop their economy, the People's Committee of the commune has organized job counseling and orientation sessions, training courses on livestock farming and crop cultivation; and especially connected with several businesses in the southern part of the province and Ho Chi Minh City to recruit many local laborers. In addition, through socio- political organizations, the Social Policy Bank has supported 18 households in the resettlement area with loans totaling more than 1 billion VND to raise cattle and grow Thai jackfruit..."

With timely and coordinated attention and support from Party committees and authorities at all levels, this is an important foundation contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minority people, promoting economic development, maintaining security and social order in the area, and helping Phuoc Ha commune strive to achieve the new rural standard by 2027.
The Tan Ha 2 Resettlement Area Construction Investment Project covers a total area of 15 hectares, providing housing land for approximately 50 households; it is divided into two phases. To date, phase 1 has been completed, covering 3.6 hectares and providing housing land for 20 households. Each household is allocated 300 square meters of land for house construction; in addition, they receive 44 million VND from the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and 56 million VND from the Provincial Fund for the Poor to build houses.
