At this time of year, hair salons, skincare shops, beauty salons, nail salons, and other similar establishments are bustling with customers getting ready for the Lunar New Year (Tet) of 2025.
The owner of Sen Bay Spa advises customers on beauty services and products that suit their needs and desires.
Walking around beauty salons in Viet Tri city, it's evident that services like skincare, hair styling, eyelash extensions, and manicures are experiencing two to three times the usual number of customers during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), especially on weekends. Beauty salons have proactively arranged staff and extended operating hours to meet customer demand during the Tet holiday.
At Sen Bay Spa, located on Chau Phong Street, Gia Cam Ward, Viet Tri City, most appointments for staff members have been booked in advance to avoid waiting times, especially in the afternoon and evening. Ms. Dang Bich Thuy, owner of Sen Bay Spa, stated: "Starting from the New Year, the number of customers seeking beauty treatments has increased, particularly in the three weeks leading up to the Lunar New Year. Currently, the spa is fully operational, serving customers during the Tet holiday with 15 treatment beds and over 20 staff working all day. At this time, the spa serves an average of over 100 customers per day across all services, a 15% increase compared to other months of the year; revenue is 10% higher than the same period last year."
Surveys at spas and beauty salons show that skincare services, including moisturizing, anti-aging, skin brightening, and skin restoration treatments, are quite popular at the moment.
Facial treatments are a popular choice for many customers looking to pamper themselves and prepare for Tet (Lunar New Year).
Taking advantage of the increased demand for beauty services during Tet (Lunar New Year), Sen Bay Spa, like many other beauty establishments in the province, has launched promotional programs to show appreciation to customers and stimulate demand during the Tet month, such as: discounts of up to 50% on services, free services with treatment packages, group discounts, gifts for loyal customers, and gifts for check-ins...
For example, at Han Anh Spa, located on Hung Due Vuong Street, Gia Cam Ward, Viet Tri City, during this year's Tet holiday, the spa launched a program using unlimited savings accounts with preferential policies for customers such as: 10% discount on all beauty services; percentage discount on the total bill; and exchange accumulated points for products or services of equivalent value. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Owner of Han Anh Spa said: "This is the first year the spa has implemented a preferential policy through savings accounts to help customers have more benefits when using beauty services here. Although the demand for beauty services increases during the period leading up to the Lunar New Year, we believe that service quality remains the most important factor to maintain our reputation and brand in the long term. Therefore, beauty care services need to ensure the time taken, the correct procedures, and meticulous attention to detail in every step."
The demand for hair services increases significantly as the Lunar New Year approaches.
Besides skincare services, many customers also want to change their hairstyles to have a new look for Tet (Lunar New Year), so the number of customers at salons and hair shops increases significantly. Popular hair services include cutting, straightening, perming, and dyeing. Mr. Nguyen Tien Toan – Owner of Toan Hair Salon in Viet Tri City – said: At this time, more than 10 employees, including main and assistant stylists at the salon, are working at full capacity to serve customers so they can have beautiful hair for Tet. The prices of basic hair services remain stable as usual. Perming, straightening, and dyeing services range from 500,000 to 1.8 million VND/service, women's haircuts from 100,000 to 200,000 VND; hair extensions from 1 to 3 million VND depending on the length of the hair...
The bustling activity at beauty salons has made the Tet holiday atmosphere even more hectic and urgent. To proactively provide the best advice and care to customers, beauty service providers often advise customers to book appointments in advance to avoid long waits and prevent overcrowding at one time.
Ms. Ta Xuan Thuy from Minh Phuong ward, Viet Tri city, said: "With the current advantages of developing information technology, researching information and evaluating the credibility of beauty establishments before deciding to use their services is simpler and easier, reducing the risk of 'losing money and suffering harm'."
Besides proactively seeking information and service quality through media channels and social networks, customers also need to assess the credibility of beauty establishments by checking their compliance with legal regulations in business, such as: operating licenses, service certifications, product origin and source, and the skills of staff before using any services.
