In recent years, Mao Khe Coal Company - TKV has consistently prioritized caring for the lives and improving working conditions of its employees. Through technological innovation, improved working environments, expanded welfare benefits, and life support, the company has gradually created favorable conditions for miners to feel secure and committed to long-term employment, thereby contributing to increased productivity and business efficiency. Simultaneously, Mao Khe Coal Company has implemented many practical activities to care for its employees. In 2025 alone, the company supported two disadvantaged worker families in building "Trade Union Shelters" with a total budget of 240 million VND and is continuing to survey one more case for consideration of support in 2026.

One typical example is the family of Mr. Bui Duc Thanh, a worker at Transport Workshop 2. Having worked for the company for over a decade, and facing difficult economic circumstances, he received 120 million VND in support from the TKV Trade Union and the company's Mutual Aid Fund. In March 2025, his family boldly built a new house worth over 500 million VND.

Mr. Thanh shared: “For many years, my family only dared to live temporarily in an old, dilapidated house. Thanks to the support of the Company and the Trade Union, my wife and I were able to build our dream house. This is a great source of encouragement, helping me to work with peace of mind, strive harder, and stay committed to the mining profession for the long term.”

Beyond providing housing support, the company has also invested heavily in two worker housing complexes with 372 rooms, including 236 rooms for single workers and 136 rooms for families. In 2025, the company renovated, repaired, and equipped facilities worth 3 billion VND, aiming to build a "Clean, Beautiful, and Civilized Worker" model, creating a safe and comfortable living space for workers away from home.

Furthermore, the company has consistently implemented technological innovation and production modernization. Many advanced equipment and systems have been put into use to ensure the safety and health of miners while increasing productivity. Notable examples include the application of 100% mobile hydraulic frame supports in the working faces; the replacement of wooden supports with steel supports in most mine tunnels; the automation of conveyor belts from the mine to the surface; the installation of a methane gas monitoring station for automatic mine gas monitoring; the deployment of double-track vehicles for transporting personnel and materials; and the installation of a fire extinguishing pipeline system in the mine.

The company also maintains daily shuttle services for workers and promotes the application of technology in labor and wage management, ensuring transparency and openness. Thanks to these coordinated efforts, the average labor productivity of the company in 2025 is estimated to reach 671.9 tons/person/year, equivalent to 110.5% of the plan. The average income for the entire company is estimated to reach 21.947 million VND/person/month, exceeding the plan by 6.7%, with miners achieving 27.23 million VND/person/month.

The Dong Vong underground mining project (Uong Bi Coal Company), with a total investment of 1,837 billion VND, has just commenced construction.

In 2026, the company plans to invest in a series of modernization projects for transporting people in the mine, such as battery-powered monorail systems, diesel monorail systems, cable car systems for transporting people, and extending the MAK hoist at main shaft II. Completing these projects will shorten travel time, reduce labor, and contribute to increased productivity for miners.

Along with Mao Khe Coal Company, over the years, TKV units have paid special attention to policies caring for workers, most notably the program to support the construction and repair of housing for workers. To date, the Group has invested in the construction of 21 high-rise collective apartment buildings at 14 underground coal mining units, providing accommodation for approximately 7,200 workers. It is expected that in the period 2025-2030, several units such as Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company, Khe Cham Coal Company, etc., will continue to invest in building collective housing areas for workers. In addition, over the past five years, the Group has supported 801 "Trade Union Shelter" houses with a total cost of over 46 billion VND and supported 126 houses for policy beneficiary families worth 12.6 billion VND.

During the 2020-2025 period, the "Mechanization, Automation, and Informatization" program in production and management was implemented at various units, thereby increasing the mechanization and automation rate in production processes. In 2025 alone, the Group invested in two new mechanized longwall mining lines, putting them into operation at Nam Mau Coal Company and Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, bringing the total number of mechanized longwall mining lines in TKV to 14. TKV's mechanized output in 2025 is expected to reach 4.53 million tons (the highest level ever).

Simultaneously, mechanized tunnel excavation using light-duty combine harvesters and semi-mechanized tunnel excavation using multi-purpose drilling and excavating equipment, or a combination of drilling rigs and excavators, continues to be widely applied in most units within the Group. Specifically in 2025, TKV invested in three new tunnel excavation lines using EBH-45 combine harvesters at the following units: Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, Nam Mau Coal Company, and Hon Gai Coal Company, contributing to increased productivity, reduced manual labor, and improved working conditions for miners.

In 2026, TKV will continue to effectively implement the "three-pronged approach" at eligible units such as Hon Gai, Ha Long, and Mao Khe; maximize the efficiency of existing mechanized tunnel excavation lines using EBH-45 combine harvesters; and aggressively implement tunnel support using anchor bolts in suitable tunnels, selecting synchronized, compact, and lightweight technologies and equipment. At the same time, the Group will continue to increase investment in and equip modern equipment for transporting people and equipment in underground mines, such as monorail systems and electric trains, to improve safety and production efficiency.

These comprehensive solutions have contributed to raising incomes and significantly improving the lives of coal miners. In 2025 alone, the average salary across the entire Group is estimated to reach 19.48 million VND/person/month, an increase of 6.71 million VND/person/month compared to 2020, with miners earning an average of 25.1 million VND/person/month. Along with this, the Group's overall labor productivity, calculated in terms of value, is projected to increase by an average of 7.8% per year.
