The fireworks showroom and sales shop on Quang Trung Street, Gia Nghia City, is the only location authorized to sell fireworks belonging to the Z121 Factory of the Ministry of National Defense in Dak Nong.

According to Mr. Le Minh Duy, the shop owner, this year, the Z121 factory supplied approximately 1,800 sets of each type of fireworks to the shop.

Unlike previous years, manufacturers are now reducing the variety in their product range to avoid confusion for consumers when shopping.

The products currently sold by the factory are standardized into three main types, including: flower-shaped spray systems, pellet spray systems, and flashing pellet spray systems, to make it easier for people to choose.

Each type costs between 420,000 and 450,000 VND per unit. Compared to previous years, the quantity of goods imported is higher, and the product prices remain unchanged, meeting safety requirements for use.

The flashing light display system, with its beautiful and consistent colors, is becoming a popular choice among many customers.

"Currently, people aren't shopping heavily. The number of customers will only start to increase significantly from around the 20th of the 12th lunar month onwards," Mr. Duy observed.

Mr. Hoang Van Lam, a customer who purchased fireworks, shared: “The fireworks from the Ministry of Defense are constantly being improved and are becoming more beautiful. The prices are reasonable and they are safe, so I always trust them and buy them for use during holidays and festivals. Just recently, for New Year's Day, I bought three sets to experience them.”

According to the shop owner, this year, the Z121 factory has invested in and added new equipment and researched the production of many new types of fireworks.

The factory also increased production capacity, bringing the goods to market early, so retailers quickly stocked them and put them on shelves, ready to serve customer needs.

In addition to improvements in product quality, this year's fireworks packaging also features changes, with detailed illustrations on how to use them and QR codes to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit products.

In particular, this year, the factory is focusing its technology on perfecting two products: the pellet spraying system and the flashing pellet spraying system.

With numerous stunning sound and light effects and an improved firing range compared to last year's fireworks displays, the fireworks promise to offer customers a captivating experience.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a resident of Gia Nghia City, also gave positive feedback after experiencing the fireworks: “I like the flashing fireworks display because the colors are more beautiful and consistent. My family often buys fireworks here at the end of the year because every single one has complete labels and clear origins.”

Be cautious when buying goods online.

Besides legal fireworks retailers, the fireworks market is rampant on social media with information designed to attract buyers.

Fireworks are sold on online marketplaces in many different varieties.

On private groups or internal trading forums, numerous posts advertising fireworks appear daily. Sellers post attractive images and videos , promoting their fireworks as superior in beauty to the Z121 product.

Fireworks on online marketplaces include many different types, some of which are of unknown origin. According to images from sellers, these fireworks often lack labels or bear foreign language markings.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, a customer who happened to be in an online fireworks buying group, shared: "To be honest, I saw the videos and they looked very appealing, but I didn't dare buy them because I wasn't sure if these fireworks were licensed or not. The sellers were all strangers, so I couldn't verify the information accurately."

Fireworks are being sold in large quantities on social media platforms.

The price of fireworks on online marketplaces ranges from 400,000 to 900,000 VND per product, which is 50,000 to 100,000 VND higher per product than similar products from Z121.

According to regulations, organizations and individuals selling fireworks from the Z121 Factory on social media without permission from the competent State agency are acting in violation of the law.

Licensed businesses must comply with safety regulations. Organizations and individuals who illegally sell firecrackers and fireworks will be subject to administrative penalties or criminal prosecution depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

Authorities advise people to only buy fireworks from licensed vendors and to avoid buying fireworks of unknown origin.

The illegal use of fireworks may be subject to administrative fines ranging from 1 to 2 million VND, as stipulated in Government Decree 167/2013/ND-CP.

The illegal production, storage, and transportation of fireworks can be fined from 5 to 40 million VND depending on the severity of the violation. People are advised not to buy or use fireworks of unknown origin out of curiosity.

According to the Market Management Department, the illegal trade of fireworks in Dak Nong has been on the rise recently, especially as the Lunar New Year approaches.

Despite strict legal regulations on the management and use of fireworks, many individuals still disregard the dangers and attempt to transport and trade explosive fireworks for illicit profit.

Illegal fireworks trafficking is often conducted discreetly, via social media or transported across borders. In some cases, fireworks are even disguised in ordinary cargo containers to evade detection by authorities.

The consequences of using fireworks of unknown origin are very serious, posing a risk of fire, explosions, injuries, and disrupting public order and security in the area.

To prevent this situation, market management forces and the police are intensifying patrols, inspections, and strictly handling violations. At the same time, propaganda activities are also being stepped up to raise public awareness of the dangers of illegal fireworks.

"However, this situation requires the joint efforts of the entire society to ensure a safe and healthy Lunar New Year," said the head of the Market Management Department.

With the fireworks market becoming increasingly vibrant towards the end of the year, people need to make wise choices, only buying genuine products to ensure safety and help their families enjoy the Lunar New Year festivities.

According to Decree 137/2020/ND-CP, citizens are only allowed to purchase fireworks from businesses licensed by the Ministry of Public Security. Currently, Chemical Company 21 (under the Ministry of National Defense) is the only unit authorized to manufacture and trade civilian fireworks. People are not allowed to manufacture, store, transport, or use firecrackers, explosive fireworks, or any other firework products of unknown origin.
