City leaders presented flowers to congratulate the Vietnam Women's Union on its 95th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th.

Acknowledging the contributions

This activity is part of a series of events celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 15th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th.

Over the past period, the Women's Union at all levels in the city has been focusing on implementing emulation movements, campaigns, and key tasks of the Union in conjunction with local political tasks… contributing positively to achieving the socio-economic development, national defense, and security goals of the city. Along with the Union's staff, the branch leaders have consistently played their roles effectively, becoming shining examples of enthusiasm and dedication to the Union's work and women's movement. These women are core figures, always dedicated and passionate about community work, directly bringing Union activities to members and women, contributing to the overall achievements of the Union and the women's movement throughout the city.

Ms. Dang Thi Chuong, Head of the Women's Association in Ha Lac village, under the Women's Union of Dan Dien commune, shared: "As a grassroots Women's Union official, I am always concerned about how to organize and develop useful movements and activities, create opportunities for interaction and connection among women; thereby, developing membership and building a strong association."

Ms. Huynh Thi Be, Head of the Women's Association in Group 10, Thuan Loc Ward, Phu Xuan Ward, said: "There are still many members and children in difficult circumstances in our ward. Therefore, I always closely monitor and understand each situation to find appropriate ways to help. I also want to be a bridge, a pioneer to mobilize women and benefactors to join hands and help those less fortunate to rise up in life."

Branch leaders interact and share experiences.

At the program, the City Women's Union recognized and commended 95 outstanding women's branch leaders who have made significant contributions to the activities of the Union and the women's movement, building a stronger organization; at the same time, affirming the faith, pride, will, and determination of all strata of Vietnamese women in general, and women of our city in particular, in the new development stage of our homeland and country.

The women's movement has undergone many stages of development.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, and Chairwoman of the Hue City Women's Union, affirmed: In recent times, the women's movement and the work of the Women's Union have made many outstanding strides. The various levels of the Union have proactively innovated the content and methods of their activities; extensively implemented patriotic emulation movements associated with the "Building the Modern Hue Woman" campaign, demonstrating the core role of "Hue City women leading in preserving Hue's cultural identity and people," and effectively implementing the "Women Starting Businesses and Excelling in Economic Activities " movement. programs “Godmotherhood – Connecting with Love”, “Supporting Vulnerable Single Mothers”, “Women Participating in Environmental Protection – Building Green, Clean, and Bright Cities”. The Association has actively applied digital transformation in management and operation, contributing to the modernization of the Association's work and fostering closer ties with the lives of its members in the new era.

The City Women's Union commended outstanding branch leaders.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized: The City Women's Union needs to continue focusing on developing women's economic activities and improving the material and spiritual lives of its members. Hue City is accelerating the shift in economic structure towards services, tourism , technology, and innovation, opening up many new job opportunities but also requiring women to improve their professional capacity, digital skills, and adaptability.

Women's associations at all levels need to continue implementing programs to support women's entrepreneurship, develop OCOP products and specialty products, and apply e-commerce platforms and digital communication in product consumption. At the same time, focus on vocational training, connecting businesses, supporting access to capital, helping rural women and disadvantaged women rise to economic independence, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, improving quality of life, and ensuring social security. Simultaneously, prioritize protecting women and children and building a safe and compassionate living environment.

In the context of rapid urbanization, social issues such as domestic violence, child abuse, and the plight of female migrant workers remain latent. The Vietnam Women's Union needs to play a bridging role, coordinating with the government, police, and social organizations to detect, support, and intervene promptly. At the same time, it should continue to expand models such as "Godmothers," "Safe Houses," and "Safe Branches for Women and Children."
