Player with most national team caps
Among the players who will participate in the 2023 Asian Cup, Hassan Al Haydos holds the record for the player with the most appearances for the national team (NTC) with 175 appearances for the host country Qatar.

The Al Sadd striker helped Qatar win the Asian Cup on home soil in 2019, and will be making his fourth appearance at the tournament at the age of 34. Hassan Al Haydos previously played at the 2011 and 2015 Asian Cups.
India striker Sunil Chhetri is second with 145 international appearances, while Iran defender Ehsan Hajisafi is third with 132 international appearances.
Oldest player
Of the 624 players taking part in the 2023 Asian Cup, Thailand goalkeeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen will be the oldest player in the tournament. Born on April 20, 1984, the Buriram United goalkeeper will be approaching his 40th birthday when the tournament begins on January 12. India striker Sunil Chhetri is also second, just four months younger than Siwarak Tedsungnoen, and Bahrain midfielder Sayed Jaafar is third, having just turned 38.
Youngest player
There are many promising young talents who are expected to make their mark in Qatar this time. Among the rising talents, Beknaz Almazbekov from the Krygyz Republic is the youngest player at 18 years and 6 months (born 23 June 2005). Iraq’s Montader Madjed is two months younger and Indonesia’s Marselino Ferdinan, born 9 September 2004.
The team with the most players playing for the national team
The reigning champions of Malaysia's Super League, Johor Darul Ta'zim, are the team that contributes the most players to the national team at the 2023 Asian Cup, with 15 players participating, of which 13 are players for the Malaysian national team, while Jordi Amat plays for Indonesia and new signing Jalil Elias plays for Syria.
Tallest player in the tournament
With a height of 2m, Australian defender Harry Souttar is the tallest player at the 2023 Asian Cup. The player currently playing for Leicester City in the English First Division is considered a powerful "aerial weapon" of the "kangaroo country" team after a series of headed goals scored in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia recently.

Ranked second on this list is Qatar defender Homam Ahmed (1m99 tall) while India's Gurpreet Singh with a height of 1m97 is ranked third.
5 teams without players playing abroad
Interestingly, at the 2023 Asian Cup, there are 5 teams that do not have players playing abroad, instead 100% of the players play domestically, including: India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and the Vietnam team.
Of the 5 teams mentioned above, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE all have highly competitive national championships and good remuneration, so players in these countries have no intention of playing abroad.
Top scorer for national team
The 2023 Asian Cup promises to be an exciting spectacle with a host of top goalscorers, led by India's Sunil Chhetri, who has an impressive 93 goals for his country.

Following closely behind is Ali Mabkhout, the UAE's top striker with 85 goals. Iran's Sardar Azmoun is third with 49 goals and all of them are expected to continue to make their names in the tournament's scoring history.
Record number of appearances
Japanese defender Yuto Nagatomo’s record of 16 Asian Cup appearances is likely to be broken, with both South Korea’s Son Heung Min and UAE’s Ali Mabkhout having made 12 appearances in the tournament. At the 11-game mark in the continental arena are the trio of Mat Ryan (Australia), Zhang Linpeng (China) and Ehsan Hajisafi (Iran).
