Vietnam breaks record by welcoming 19.15 million international visitors in 11 months

(GLO)- In 2025, Vietnam tourism will continuously set new records. According to the General Statistics Office, in the past 11 months, international visitors to Vietnam reached 19.15 million, an increase of 21% over the same period in 2024 and surpassing the record of 18 million in 2019.

This is the highest number of international visitors Vietnam has ever recorded in the 65-year history of formation, construction and development of the tourism industry.

In November alone, international arrivals to Vietnam reached nearly 1.98 million, up 14.2% over the previous month and up 15.6% over the same period last year.

Notably, November 2025 witnessed strong growth from North American markets, of which the US increased by 30.5% compared to the previous month, Canada increased by 55.9%.

Meanwhile, Europe achieved an impressive growth of 51.2% compared to the previous month: Russia recorded an increase of 37.0%, UK (+31.8%), France (+46.7%), Germany (+51.4%), Italy (+88.9%), Switzerland (+47.3%), Czech Republic (+148.8%), Poland (+255.6%)...

Strong growth in North America and Europe in November reflects the trend of attracting visitors from distant markets to Vietnam during the year-end peak season.

China continued to be the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam in 11 months with nearly 4.8 million arrivals (accounting for 25.0%). South Korea ranked second, reaching over 3.9 million arrivals (accounting for 20.6%). Third place belonged to Taiwan (1.1 million arrivals), fourth was the US (766 thousand arrivals).

Vietnam's top 10 markets also include Japan (754 thousand arrivals), India (656 thousand arrivals), Cambodia (614 thousand arrivals), Russia (593 thousand arrivals), Malaysia (510 thousand arrivals) and Australia (496 thousand arrivals).

Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 767.8 trillion, accounting for 12.0% of total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue and increasing by 14.6% over the same period last year. Revenue in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year of some localities is as follows: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 17.3%; Da Nang increased by 15.8%; Hanoi increased by 13.4%; Can Tho increased by 12.2%; Hai Phong increased by 11.6%.

Tourism revenue in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at VND85.4 trillion, accounting for 1.4% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue and increasing by 19.9% ​​over the same period last year.

Revenue in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year of some localities is as follows: Hanoi increased by 23.4%; Ho Chi Minh City increased by 22.3%; Quang Ninh increased by 18.2%; Vinh Long increased by 14.1%; Da Nang increased by 13.2%.
