As the early morning sunlight filtered through the treetops, the Bac Cuong Primary School (Lao Cai City) was filled with laughter. Unlike any other day, thousands of students in bright uniforms, with radiant faces, eagerly participated in the “Primary School Festival”, where they were free to explore and express themselves through attractive activity corners.

At the art corner, the children are passionate about drawing, sculpting clay and cutting and pasting paper to create unique works. A happy picture of family affection, a funny clay elephant or colorful paper flowers are meticulously completed by the children. Just putting the final stroke on her work, Phan Bao Chau Anh, a student of class 1A6, shouted happily, excitedly showing off: I love drawing, today I drew a school full of green trees. Sitting and drawing with my friends in the school yard, I feel very happy!
In addition to the art corner, the school also arranges other learning corners for students to choose from, suitable for their age. The STEM creative corner turns children into “little scientists ” through assembling models and making robots. Meanwhile, the puzzle corner is bustling with tricky puzzles, math, and jigsaw puzzles, helping children practice logical thinking and team spirit. Interspersed with activity corners is a performance stage, where children perform folk dances, sing about their homeland, or act out short plays about life lessons.

Seeing students participating enthusiastically in activities, parents are the happiest people. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Khuyen shared: Seeing my child excitedly and confidently participating in activities with friends, I feel very touched. Activities like this that both play and learn help children become more confident and develop more skills.
The crisp laughter, the sparkling eyes of joy and the atmosphere of solidarity spreading throughout the school yard were proof of the success of the festival. The activity was not only a playground, but also a place to inspire passion, nurture confidence and creativity for students.
Teacher Tran Thi Minh Chung, Principal of Bac Cuong Primary School, shared: In recent years, the school has focused on combining learning and practical experience.
This is an opportunity for students to develop comprehensively, from artistic creativity, scientific thinking, to communication skills and teamwork. We want every student to find joy and happiness in learning.
Similar to Bac Cuong Primary School, in recent years, Bac Lenh Primary School (Lao Cai City) has also made its mark with experiential lessons that combine play and learning. Here, comprehensiveeducation is not just a slogan, but is realized through each inspiring lesson.
One morning, we had the opportunity to attend the Natural and Social Science class of class 4A6. Instead of studying theory in class, the teacher took the students to the school garden, where there were lush green vegetable beds and familiar plants that the students themselves had planted. The students divided into groups, observed, recorded the characteristics of the plants, and then discussed the role of trees in the environment.
Nguyen Thi Ngan Ha excitedly said: I like going to the school garden, both studying and playing. I also learn how to take care of plants so they grow quickly.

In addition to outdoor lessons, the school also organizes extracurricular activities such as visiting historical sites or environmental sanitation activities. These experiences not only broaden students’ knowledge but also educate them about environmental protection, love for their homeland and love for national culture.
Comprehensive education is not just about teaching letters, but also about teaching children to grow up with a loving heart, a creative mind and a healthy body.
Ms. Tran Thi Lien, Principal of Bac Lenh Primary School, added: On that basis, in recent years, the school has actively integrated creative and fun experiential activities with learning knowledge to help children absorb easily and create a comfortable mindset. These activities have been planned in detail by the school since the beginning of the year and have received enthusiastic support from parents.

Not only Bac Cuong Primary School and Bac Lenh Primary School, but also primary schools in Lao Cai city are actively implementing the goal of comprehensive education through activities of “learning while playing, playing while learning”. If the festival at Bac Cuong Primary School is a playground where students are free to be creative and express their personalities, then the experiential lessons at Bac Lenh Primary School are solid bricks, building a foundation of knowledge and life skills for students.
Looking at the sparkling eyes of the students, we felt the “fire” of passion for learning and discovery being “lit” by the teachers. That journey has been and is sowing “seeds” of hope for a confident and courageous generation of young Lao Cai.
