From the land bordering China in Cao Bang province, Ms. Duong Thi Trang, Principal of Da Thong Kindergarten, shared with Dan Tri reporters the joy of the opening day of the new school year 2025-2026. From early morning, Mong, Tay, Nung, Dao people from all villages flocked to the valley, where the small school was decorated with flags and flowers, leading their children to school.
Many children walked 2-3km through the forest with their mothers. Some were taken 10km by their mothers on motorbikes. All the children were present at the main school in Da Thong.

Da Thong Kindergarten is located in Thong Nong Commune, Cao Bang Province, a particularly disadvantaged commune. The school system here typically has one main school and many satellite schools scattered throughout the villages.
With Da Thong Kindergarten, the main school is located in the middle of the field. The remaining 4 schools are far away and located on high mountainsides, making travel extremely difficult.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has a total of 286 children from ethnic minorities. Of which, the Mong ethnic group accounts for over 80%.
The opening ceremony of Da Thong Kindergarten took place simply and warmly with innocent singing and dancing performances. After that, teachers and students performed the flag-raising ceremony on the TV screen with millions of preschool children, pupils and students nationwide. The children attentively and eagerly followed the opening ceremony of the new school year from Hanoi .
This year, teachers and students of Da Thong School have another joy. That is Lung Khinh School has just been rebuilt by Dan Tri Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security's Training Department and Cao Bang Provincial Police and sponsors. Soon, the children at Lung Khinh School will have new, spacious and comfortable classrooms, without worrying about the heat or storms.
More than 330km to the West of Thong Nong Kindergarten is Quang Nguyen Ethnic Boarding School, also a school that readers of Dan Tri newspaper joined hands to build.

Quang Nguyen School was formerly located in Xin Man District, Ha Giang Province. After the reorganization and merger of the province, the school is now located in Quang Nguyen Commune, Tuyen Quang Province. Mr. Hoang Van Toan, Principal of the school, said that in the new school year 2025-2026, the school will welcome 510 students of Tay, Dao, H'Mong, and Nung ethnic groups.
Teachers work hard, students are poor, but in the past 3 years, teaching and learning of teachers and students in Quang Nguyen have been somewhat improved thanks to the boarding house donated by Dan Tri newspaper.
Recalling the scene before 2023, more than 200 boarding students of the school had to sleep in a row of corrugated iron houses that were as hot as a bread oven in the summer and as cold as a bone in the winter, Mr. Toan emotionally said: "Thanks to the kindness of Dan Tri readers, the school has a row of spacious houses, providing accommodation for ethnic minority boarding students. This year is the third school year that the students here have enjoyed that joy."

Through Dan Tri newspaper, on behalf of the school, Mr. Toan would like to thank Dan Tri newspaper readers, philanthropists, and businesses who have supported the school in building boarding houses so that students can go to school with peace of mind, focus on studying, and prepare for the future.
Also this morning, nearly 60 schools across the country, with the joint efforts of readers of Dan Tri newspaper, held a special opening ceremony - the first opening ceremony after the country's reorganization, and also the first opening ceremony where students across the country heard the sound of a school drum from Hanoi.
Since the beginning of 2025, Dan Tri newspaper has coordinated with agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists to organize the groundbreaking, construction, and completion of 8 school projects. On average, every month, Dan Tri newspaper has built new classrooms, boarding areas, and kitchens for students in a remote and disadvantaged area.
