The Bac Giang Dance Association, established in 2023 (after the merger of the two provinces, it was renamed the Bac Ninh Dance Association), is chaired by musician Dao Hong Thach, born in 1958, currently the head of the Bac Ninh Music Branch (Bac Ninh Provincial Association of Literature and Arts). The association brings together over 20 members from diverse backgrounds, ages, and professions across various wards and communes such as Bac Giang, Chu, Yen The, Tan Yen, Kinh Bac, and Tien Du. Most members are currently the chairpersons or vice-chairpersons of well-known dance clubs in the province.

The aim of the Association is to train and improve the ballroom dancing techniques of the club's management board, forming a core group for teaching to grassroots members. Many people live 20-40 km from the center of Bac Giang ward, but still regularly attend the activities. Here, they are taught many advanced and artistic dance techniques with dances such as Latin Standard, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, etc.
Ballroom dancing originated in England in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, associated with the balls of the upper class. It is a multifaceted art form requiring dancers to combine many elements: speed, strength, agility, endurance, skill, and grace. Musician Dao Hong Thach shared that to achieve beautiful dance moves, besides talent, members must be persistent and passionate about practice. Despite having many years of experience teaching ballroom dancing, he still regularly attends advanced training courses taught by foreign instructors. After each course, he returns to teach the dance free of charge to the members of the association.
From this engaging art playground, everyone feels happy, healthy, and optimistic, strengthening the bonds between members and contributing to the spread of the dance movement in the community. Ms. Hoang Thi Ha, born in 1977, from Chu Ward, who works as a self-employed businesswoman, said she learned to dance 10 years ago, but only the basic techniques. Last September, she and some people from her hometown joined the Bac Ninh Dance Association. "We learned many advanced techniques. The movements are more graceful and beautiful than before. When we returned to our hometown to teach, everyone was very enthusiastic because they learned many new and attractive dances. One person taught another, creating a vibrant movement," Ms. Ha said.
Established just over two years ago, the Association regularly participates in and wins numerous provincial and national awards, as well as open competitions organized by various provinces and cities. In addition to these major competitions, members of the Bac Ninh Dance Association also directly direct dance performances for many units within the province participating in cultural and artistic festivals and competitions, winning high awards.
