Ninh Thuan extends the deadline for the competition to select Cham pottery products as gifts.

(To Quoc) - Ninh Thuan has extended the deadline for receiving entries for the "Designing Cham pottery products as gifts from Ninh Thuan province" competition until the end of January 2025.

The People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province has just announced an extension of the deadline for receiving entries for the "Designing Cham pottery products as gifts from Ninh Thuan province" competition.

Previously, Ninh Thuan organized the first competition with a deadline for receiving entries until November 30, 2024. However, to date, the number of entries submitted by organizations and individuals has not met the target set by the Organizing Committee.

Therefore, the province has extended the deadline for receiving entries until January 31, 2025. At the same time, authors are allowed to revise, supplement, and resubmit their submitted works to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Cham pottery products are displayed at Bau Truc Pottery Village, Ninh Phuoc district.

According to the organizers, the competition aims to preserve and promote the art of Cham pottery making, which has been inscribed by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguard.

At the same time, it aims to attract and promote the creativity of artists, artisans, individuals, and groups inside and outside the province to participate in creating Cham pottery designs to be used as gifts from Ninh Thuan province, contributing to enriching the visual identity and brand of Cham pottery in particular and Ninh Thuan province in general.

According to the competition rules, entries must be created using realistic methods from traditional Cham materials, and can be either fully crafted or scaled 1:1 models.

The organizing committee will evaluate and score entries based on criteria such as creativity, applicability, and symbolism. Priority will be given to entries that meet aesthetic and elegant standards, possess practicality, high durability, and appropriate dimensions; and to those artisans from the Bau Truc Cham pottery village who can mass-produce many products.
