What does the 2026 Nissan Frontier have to compete with the pickup "king" Ford Ranger?

Nissan has officially announced the price of the 2026 Frontier pickup truck (or Nissan Navara in the US market), with prices starting at $32,150 (about VND 845 million).

The new 2026 Nissan Frontier pickup truck (also known as the Nissan Navara in the US market) has just been officially launched. In the standard S and SV versions, the 2026 Frontier is now equipped with LED headlights instead of halogen bulbs.

The 2025 Nissan Frontier SV also adds an 8-way power driver's seat and an optional All-Weather package that includes a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and remote start.

SV buyers can also opt for the Dark Armor package, which adds a dark grille, black mirror caps and black badging. Black 17-inch alloy wheels, a dark headliner and black interior trim add to the sporty look.

The PRO-X and PRO-4X models also get similar upgrades, and also get a new Citrus Strike paint job that’s a unique blend of neon yellow and green. Some models get an off-road mode selector with Gravel, Sand, Mud, Tarmac settings and hill descent control.

Powering the 2026 Frontier continues to be a 3.8L V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 381 Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and optional 4-wheel drive.

The 2026 Nissan Frontier also gets a brand new PRO-4X R version. This is a collaboration between Nissan and Roush Performance. The vehicle is positioned as a direct competitor to the Ford Ranger Raptor in the high-performance pickup segment.

The Nissan Frontier PRO-4X R has a rugged exterior with titanium skid plates, a dark grille and badging, combined with a Lava Red winch and Roush logos on the fenders. The vehicle is equipped with 17-inch titanium-painted wheels with Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme tires for increased off-road capability.

Inside the cabin of this version there are some unique details such as: seats embroidered with the "R" logo, black ceiling and infotainment system with 12.3 inch screen, combined with 7 inch clock.

The 2026 Nissan Frontier starts at $32,150, excluding the $1,695 destination fee. Compared to the previous generation, the price has increased by $100 and the destination fee has also increased by $185, bringing the total difference to about $285.

The Nissan Frontier PRO-4X R version is still equipped with a 3.8L V6 engine, not as powerful as the Ranger Raptor's twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 (405 horsepower, 582 Nm).

The 2026 Frontier PRO-4X R starts at $47,960, which is $6,090 more expensive than the standard PRO-4X but $8,110 cheaper than the Ranger Raptor.
