(CLO) On November 3rd, Giao Thong Newspaper held the opening ceremony of the 5th Annual Golf Tournament for Road Safety in 2024, which took place at Hoang Gia Golf Course, Ninh Binh .
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, said: "As the official publication of the Ministry of Transport and the National Traffic Safety Committee; and a forum for road users, in addition to fulfilling its political duties, Giao Thong Newspaper always strives in community activities, especially charitable programs for victims of traffic accidents."

The golf tournament we are participating in today has been held for five consecutive years and is one of the meaningful activities in the "Joining Hands for Road Safety" program initiated by the Traffic Newspaper since 2013.
Over the years, with the trust and support of our readers and partners, Giao Thong Newspaper has provided thousands of gifts and scholarships to the relatives of traffic accident victims; built dozens of bridges and houses of compassion, and nurtured dreams of overcoming adversity.
Ms. Nga also emphasized that the presence of golfers at the tournament not only helps victims of traffic accidents overcome difficulties but also spreads the message of "Joining Hands for Traffic Safety," encouraging everyone to comply with traffic laws so that every journey is a joy, and every end of the road is a complete and joyful reunion.

According to the organizers, the 2024 Golf Tournament for Road Safety will bring together over 200 golfers, divided into 3 groups, competing in an 18-hole stroke play tournament, following R&A rules and the course's own rules as stated on the scorecard or course notice board. Scores will be calculated using the daily handicap (System 36).
Immediately after the opening ceremony and tee-off, more than 200 golfers officially competed on 18 holes. The tournament is expected to conclude at 6 PM on the same day, with the awards gala taking place at 6:30 PM.
