Tay Ninh: Verify and handle the case of organizing the golf tournament "For children to go to school" without permission and falsifying information

On the afternoon of September 6, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT-DL) of Tay Ninh province said that the unit is urgently inspecting, verifying and strictly handling organizations and individuals related to the organization of the unauthorized "For Children to Go to School" golf tournament, which took place the same morning at West Lakes Golf & Villas (Hau Nghia commune, Tay Ninh province).

A representative from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province affirmed: "The Department has not granted permission to any individual or organization to organize a golf tournament called 'For Children to Go to School'. Organizing a golf tournament to raise money without permission is a violation of the law."

Previously, invitations to a golf tournament circulated on social media, along with bank account numbers and a call for donations with the message "Support the charity golf tournament 'For Children to Go to School'". Notably, the invitation also included an image of a board with the logos of 12 media outlets, labeled " Media Sponsor" and " Partner Sponsor".

Later that same day, leaders of several media outlets, including Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, and others on the list above, issued statements affirming that they did not sponsor or cooperate with the aforementioned tournament. These organizations also stated that they would send written requests to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province and relevant authorities to verify and strictly handle the act of falsifying information.

The incident is currently under further investigation.
