| Photo book: 80 years, a Vietnam steadfast in its resolve. |
Photographer Nguyen A launched his photo book "80 Years, A Confident Vietnam" and held an exhibition of the same name at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center from December 13 to 15. The exhibition will then continue in Hanoi (December 20), Da Nang, and other locations. This is Nguyen A's fourth photo book in 2025, following "Rising Up the Villages of Nu" (March), "50 Years of Vietnamese Strength," and "Hoa Binh City - Our City" (August).
Accompanying many historical events
2025 was a particularly memorable year in Nguyen A's professional and dedicated career. At the end of October, his photo book "Resilient Saigon" was honored by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as one of the 50 outstanding literary and artistic works of the city, commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (1975-2025). He was also awarded the title of Outstanding Gold Member E.VAPA/G by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
The photo book "80 Years, A Confident Vietnam" continues to showcase Nguyen A's incredibly relentless creative journey, brimming with passion and photographic talent, emotions, experiences accompanying many historically significant events of the nation, and the intense love for his country in the artist's heart.
In particular, Nguyen A's lens focuses on the close bond between the military and the people. These images portray the strength and discipline of the armed forces, the young generation in the military ready to follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers to firmly defend the country's sovereignty, as well as the joy, radiant smiles, happiness, and national pride of all segments of the population.
Nguyen A's latest photo collection is very diverse, not only documenting major events from the National Day celebrations (September 2nd) but also including photojournalism on Vietnam's oil and gas exploration activities in the East Sea; the activities of the rescue and relief forces of the Vietnam People's Army in Myanmar after the March 2025 earthquake; the activities of the Vietnamese peacekeeping forces in Africa; the Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange (April 2025)...
Photographer Nguyen A was awarded the title of Record Holder by the Vietnam Institute of Records for creating three sets of authentic, moving, and heroic photo books about veterans, armed forces units, and the general public participating in parades and marches during three major national celebrations in 2024-2025. “These are valuable documents that contribute to vividly portraying the flow of history, the strength, the spirit of unity, and the pride of the Vietnamese nation,” VietKings noted.
"Happiness overflows"
Photographer Nguyen A said that the photo exhibition "80 Years, a Confident Vietnam," launched on this occasion, brings him "overwhelming happiness." He is happy to live in a peaceful, independent, integrated, and developing Vietnam; happy to be involved in the important events of the nation in 2025. Each photograph is a snapshot in time, reflecting the resilience, vitality, and strong belief of the Vietnamese nation and people.
“To express my passion for capturing contemporary events and reflecting the vibrant energy of a nation striving for integration and entering a new era, I continuously traveled from the South to the North, from Ca Mau Cape to Quang Tri, Phu Tho, Ha Giang (now Tuyen Quang), Lao Cai, Lang Son, Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery, Ly Son Island, Truong Sa Archipelago... Specifically for the A80 event, the grand parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), I spent a whole month in Hanoi taking photos to create the most complete collection I desired,” photographer Nguyen A told Dong Nai Weekend.
