Over the years, musicians and members of the Musicians' Association have composed hundreds of works imbued with the spirit of life and the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the Northwest region, from heroic songs praising the changes in their homeland to lyrical love songs about the natural scenery, life, and people of this area.
Many works were created to serve the province's major events in a timely manner, and were well-received and loved by the public, such as: "Words from the Northwest Mountains, Lao Cai under the Dawn Light" by Ha Thanh; "The Party's Call to Arms" by Hoang Hong Ngoc; "Spring in the Homeland of Lao Cai" by Hoang Ngoc Chan; "Brocade" by Kim Xuan Hung; "Guardian of the Nation" by Xuan Quynh...

With the mission of bringing together and connecting musicians of different generations, styles, and specialties, the Musicians' Association has created a close-knit and effective professional environment. It is a place where members regularly organize thematic discussions, introduce new works, and exchange experiences and receive constructive feedback.
The interaction between experienced musicians and enthusiastic young composers has fostered a strong flow of inheritance and development, helping each member continuously improve their skills, shape their personal compositional style, and keep up with modern musical trends while preserving national identity.

The Musicians' Association has become a solid "launching pad," a source of inspiration through organizing field trips to unique cultural regions, providing members with a rich source of material from real life and folk music.
The branch always rigorously evaluates and carefully selects works with high artistic and ideological value to participate in competitions. As a result, many works by its members have won major national awards in recent years, clearly demonstrating the quality of composition among the musicians of Lao Cai.
In professional arts festivals, musicians and singers from the Musicians' Association have made significant contributions, winning many major awards, such as: Artist Nguyen Thanh Long won a gold medal at the 2022 International Music Festival and was awarded the title of Outstanding Artist of the Year 2022 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Artist Vu Duy Cuong won a gold medal at the 2021 National Professional Music Festival; Artist Bui Manh Tin won a silver medal at the 2022 ASEAN Music Festival and a B prize at the 2023-2024 Music Festival; Musician Nguyen Ha Thanh won a gold medal at the 2022 International Music Festival, a gold medal at the 2023 National Amateur Arts Competition, and a gold medal at the 2024 National Mobile Propaganda Competition...

Singer Bui Manh Tin from the Provincial Ethnic Arts Troupe shared: “The branch always creates opportunities for us to have a stage to perform on, to practice intensively, and most importantly, to receive timely encouragement. Each award is not only an achievement for me personally but also a shared joy, affirming the artistic quality of the province's composers and performers. I am very happy and proud to be a part of the Provincial Musicians' Association.”

To enrich their inspiration and creative material, the Musicians' Association regularly organizes field trips for its members to various localities within the province. This provides an opportunity for musicians to directly interact with the lives of the people, collect and research folk songs, folk dances, and traditional musical materials of ethnic groups to use as inspiration for their compositions.
These works, rooted in reality, not only possess artistic value but also effectively serve to promote and encourage political and social initiatives, making a positive contribution to the preservation and promotion of the unique cultural heritage of ethnic groups in the province.

Composer Hoang Ngoc Chan shared: "The greatest value of these field trips for songwriting is the transformation of emotions, which gives the works depth and thus touches the hearts of the public."
The Lao Cai branch of the Vietnam Musicians Association is not only a common home for professional artists but also plays a pioneering role in shaping musical aesthetics, guiding the public towards true, good, and beautiful artistic values; it serves as a cultural bridge, promoting the unique musical values of Lao Cai province, and enriching the diversity of the national music scene.
