Opening Ceremony of the Tan Lan Temple Ky Yen Festival 2025

(Dong Nai) - On the morning of December 12, the Tan Lan communal temple's management board (Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) held the opening ceremony of the Tan Lan communal temple festival to commemorate the 305th anniversary of the death of Lord Tran Thuong Xuyen (1720-2025).

The festival takes place over two days, December 12th and 13th (corresponding to the 23rd and 24th of the 10th lunar month), with many traditional rituals such as: inviting the deity's spirit on a journey, inviting the spirit, offering sacrifices, and performing the grand ceremonial procession, demonstrating the principle of "drinking water and remembering the source."

Besides the ceremonial part, the festival was lively with lion and dragon dances, traditional opera performances, and more. A large number of locals and tourists from within and outside the province came to watch.

The 2025 Tan Lan Temple Ky Yen Festival is an occasion to commemorate Lord Tran Thuong Xuyen, who made significant contributions to the development of the Dong Nai - Gia Dinh region. The festival also contributes to promoting the image of Tan Lan Temple, a national-level historical and architectural monument and a cultural destination in Tran Bien ward.
