In 2017, Mr. Duc started growing durian. Through advice from experts and learning from experience, he chose durian seedlings, sowing them in nursery bags. After about a year of growth, he grafted them with two Ri6 durian seedlings. Thanks to the three roots and three sets of roots absorbing nutrients simultaneously, the trees grew quickly, healthily, and were particularly resistant to breakage during storms, reducing damage from natural disasters. Seeing the success of this initial small area, Mr. Duc boldly expanded his orchard to 3.5 hectares. He also applied low-cost, organic farming methods such as using his own fertilizers and limiting the use of chemical fertilizers.

Of Mr. Duc's 3.5 hectares of durian trees, 7.5 sao (approximately 0.75 hectares) have been bearing fruit for four years, yielding 1.5 times more than a typical orchard. The remaining area consists of trees bearing their first fruits and newly planted trees. For the 2024-2025 durian season, Mr. Duc estimates a yield of 510 million VND per hectare, with a profit of approximately 340 million VND after deducting expenses. In subsequent years, as all the trees mature and produce more fruit, the income will be significantly higher.
