A period of rare instability
No longer just rumors or isolated heated moments, the Spanish royal club is truly experiencing a period of instability rarely seen in recent years. The latest focal point is the clash between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Valverde (left) was hospitalized after a recent altercation with Tchouameni.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS , the conflict between the two midfielders lasted for two days, eventually escalating into a serious altercation. The Uruguayan player had to be hospitalized to have stitches in his head.
The reason is that Valverde has repeatedly accused Tchouameni of leaking internal Real Madrid information to outsiders. The midfielder, born in 1998, also refused to shake hands before training and committed several rough fouls against Tchouameni at Valdebebas.
Currently, a crisis management committee, headed by CEO Jose Angel Sanchez, has been convened. It is highly likely that Valverde and Tchouameni will be dropped from the squad for the upcoming matches.
For months now, Real Madrid's internal affairs have been plagued by small but escalating conflicts. Since Vinicius Junior's outburst of anger towards former coach Xabi Alonso for being substituted in the El Clasico match at the end of October 2025, the "Los Blancos" dressing room has gradually descended into chaos, almost to the point of being out of control.
Defender Antonio Rudiger once slapped Alvaro Carreras during a training session last February, prompting teammates to intervene. Shortly after, Dani Carvajal's overly aggressive tackle sidelined Victor Valdepeñas for a month due to a knee sprain.
In mid-March, Raul Asencio expressed his dissatisfaction with coach Alvaro Arbeloa for not being included in the starting lineup for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Manchester City. As a result, he was banned from playing until he publicly apologized to the entire team.

Mbappe has just returned from a vacation in Italy.
In April, Dani Ceballos spoke out, claiming he wasn't trusted by Arbeloa at Real Madrid. According to the midfielder, he was frequently benched and overtaken by younger players. In a press conference, the Spanish coach responded bluntly: "I only choose those I think are suitable."
Losing power in the dressing room.
Over the next few weeks, the topic of discussion quickly shifted to Kylian Mbappe. The 1998-born striker had a heated argument with a member of the coaching staff. More recently, during this crucial stage of the season, the French star took a vacation in Italy.

Barcelona only needs to avoid defeat against Real Madrid (center) in round 35 to win La Liga this season.
Notably, he only returned just before Real Madrid's match against Espanyol last weekend. Fans, some players, and the "Los Blancos" management are reportedly unhappy with Mbappe's attitude, especially since an image of unity is extremely necessary at this time.
More importantly, the two managers of "The White Eagles" this season (Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa) have lost their authority in the dressing room.
They are almost powerless to prevent the squabbles between the stars at Bernabeu.
For example, when Valverde attacked Tchouameni right in front of coach Alvaro Arbeloa, he did not intervene.
In the La Liga standings, Real Madrid are striving to catch up with league leaders Barcelona in an attempt to salvage their season. However, with an 11-point gap at the moment, "Los Blancos" could very well witness their arch-rivals being crowned champions if they drop points in the El Clasico at Camp Nou this weekend.
