Ronaldo is brimming with enthusiasm as he prepares for the 2026 World Cup. |
Following his Saudi Pro League championship win with Al Nassr after a four-year wait, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to demonstrate his immense appeal off the field as his unique Panini Kaboom card sells for a staggering price in the sports card collecting market.
According to ESPN , Ronaldo's 2018 Panini Kaboom green card, a one-of-a-kind (only one copy printed worldwide ) of him playing for Juventus, was privately traded for $1.35 million through Fanatics Collect.
This is the most expensive card ever associated with Ronaldo personally, and also the second most expensive football card in history. Only Lionel Messi's rookie card, priced at $1.5 million , ranks above it, while Pele's previous record of $1.33 million has been surpassed.
The value of this special card has increased dramatically in a short period of time. Just a few days prior, the record for a Ronaldo card was only $420,000 for the 2015 Panini Flawless Finishes Black edition.
The 2018 Panini Kaboom collection was not widely released but only appeared in the Panini Rewards program. In particular, the Green Kaboom 1-of-1 version is considered one of the rarest and most sought-after designs among collectors.
The ultimate buyer remains anonymous. However, the account "cherubcards," who has owned the card since March 2024, confirmed being the seller. This person called Ronaldo a "true champion," and praised CR7's discipline and desire to conquer.
The Ronaldo craze in the collectibles market is taking place against the backdrop of the Portuguese superstar maintaining his significant influence at the age of 41. He recently won the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr and is preparing to participate in his sixth World Cup with the Portuguese national team.
In just one week, two Ronaldo trading cards were sold for over $350,000 , demonstrating that CR7's commercial value remains undiminished.
