- Over 25 years of construction and development, the Lang Son Youth Palace has become a common home for many generations of young people in Lang Son. More than just a place for recreation and activities, the Youth Palace is also an important extracurricular cultural and educational institution, contributing to nurturing dreams, shaping character, and helping many generations of children grow into adults.
Ms. Hoang Thi Lieu, Deputy Director of the Lang Son Youth Center, said: The Lang Son Youth Center officially started operating on June 1, 2001, formerly known as the Lang Son Children's Palace. This is a center for children in the province, with comprehensively invested facilities and equipment for learning, playing, and training. With many talent classes, cultural and sports activities, the Youth Center attracts 1,500 to 2,000 children annually for activities and learning.

With its strength in discovering, nurturing, and supporting young people in developing their talents, the Youth Center annually maintains approximately 20 subjects such as: vocal music, dance, painting, chess, martial arts, foreign languages, life skills, etc., in the afternoons, Saturdays, Sundays, and during the summer. During the organization of these classes, teachers proactively identify students with outstanding talents to provide in-depth training, building a core group to participate in art, ceremonial, and youth propaganda teams and groups in the province. From this environment, many students have become active participants in local and school movements.
Le Thi An Binh, a 12th-grade student in class E1 at Chu Van An High School for the Gifted and a member of the Lang Son Youth Center's Young Artists Team, said: "I joined the Youth Center at the age of 4 and stayed with them until the end of 9th grade. During this time, I participated in many talent classes organized by the center, such as singing, dancing, swimming, and hosting... Thanks to this, I gradually developed my talents and achieved many accomplishments in my studies and extracurricular activities. At the age of 8, I won third prize in the provincial-level 'Do Re Mi' singing competition. During my high school years, I continued to win the special prize in the 'Singing for Young People' competition and fourth prize in the hosting competition organized by Chu Van An High School for the Gifted. In addition, I was selected by the Youth Center to participate in many festivals and competitions organized by the Central Youth Council."
Leveraging its role as a center for extracurricular educational activities, the Youth Center focuses on organizing experiential and skill-building activities such as: "Military Semester," "Border Guard Experience," "Learning to be a Police Officer," etc. Through these activities, children develop communication skills, teamwork, and discipline. Many creative playgrounds are organized, such as "Music Garden," "I Love Vietnamese History," art festivals, and schoolyard performances, creating an environment for young people to interact and showcase their talents. In recent years, the Youth Center has gradually modernized its activities to better suit the needs of children. Foreign language classes, STEM programs, and the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence are emphasized, contributing to equipping young people with additional knowledge and skills.
Over the years, the Youth Center has consistently innovated its content and organizational methods in youth group activities, focusing on practicality, attractiveness, and suitability for each age group. Through youth group ritual festivals, competitions for outstanding group leaders, youth propaganda group festivals, and thematic activities, the center has contributed to improving the quality of youth group activities at the grassroots level. Simultaneously, it has effectively maintained specialized and model groups such as: ritual groups, brass bands, drum groups, and youth propaganda groups, serving as the core for major provincial events. This also serves as a model for youth groups in the area to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and participate in regional and national competitions.
In addition, the Youth Center also focuses on educating children on ethics and lifestyle through youth newsletters, youth propaganda team festivals, and commending children who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies and training. The unit also collaborates in organizing forums and dialogue activities for children to express their thoughts and aspirations and to promote their right to participate.
The efforts of the Youth Union Center in supporting young generations have been recognized with numerous commendations and awards. In 2025 alone, the unit received a commendation from the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding achievements in Youth Union work and children's movements during the 2020-2025 period; and was awarded a commendation by the Central Youth Union Council at the 2025 National Children's Art Festival.
