Xinhua News Agency quoted information from the Kremlin as saying that Russian President Putin had a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, discussing bilateral relations and the Ukraine conflict.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current successful development of Russian-Indian relations.

"The Russian-Indian leaders discussed preparations for President Putin's visit to India in December this year and also touched on a range of international issues, including the Ukraine conflict," the Kremlin said.
"Throughout modern history, Russian-Indian relations have always been friendly and enjoyed nationwide support in both countries," President Putin stressed.
After the phone call, Prime Minister Modi wrote on Twitter that India is committed to further strengthening ties with Russia and is ready to "contribute in every possible way to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine".
Anadolu quoted information from the Indian Prime Minister's Office as saying that Mr. Modi looked forward to welcoming the Russian leader to India later this year.
