The Farmers' Association (FA) of Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, currently has over 1,750 members operating in 15 branches. To ensure the effectiveness of the "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" movement, the FA has implemented many practical activities and initiatives over the years, attracting a large number of members to participate. This has created motivation for farmers to enthusiastically compete in labor and production, boldly transform the agricultural economic structure, apply science and technology to production, and contribute to local economic development.

Farmers in Thu Cuc are competing in production to rise out of poverty.The emulation movement in labor, production, and economic development among farmers in Thu Cuc commune has seen many positive changes in recent years. Under the leadership of the local Party committee and government, and with the support of the Farmers' Association, people have boldly transformed the structure of crops and livestock, applied scientific and technological advancements to production, effectively exploited land potential, and gradually increased their income, rising out of poverty.

In 2024, the entire commune had 1,255 households registered as outstanding producers and business operators at all levels, with 820 households achieving the title. Through this movement, many farmers have emerged who dare to think and act, researching, learning, and experimenting with and expanding new crops and livestock, contributing to the diversification of production and the development of new industries and services in the rural economy. Examples include: the semi-automatic chicken farming model of Mr. Cao Tien Cong's family in Zone 1; the packaging manufacturing company of Mr. Nhu Thanh Tung's family in Zone 13; the guinea pig farming model of Mr. Dang Thanh Tin's family in Zone 13; and Hoa Lua One-Member Limited Liability Company of Mr. Cao Trung Thong... These have brought high incomes and created stable jobs for many local workers.

For example, Mr. Dang Thanh Tin in Zone 13 boldly sought a new direction in developing his family's economy. He invested in and built enclosures to raise over 60 breeding pairs of bamboo rats. Thanks to proper care and techniques, his bamboo rat herd thrived, reproducing well and generating nearly 200 million VND per year. Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, with her potato farming model, benefited from participating in training courses on cultivation and pest control techniques. Her potato farm, covering over 9 acres, yielded an income of 31 million VND per crop.

To enable farmer members to effectively participate in the "Excellent Production and Business" movement, the Farmers' Association of the commune has also coordinated the organization of short-term vocational training courses to improve scientific and technical knowledge for members and farmers in the fields of: crop cultivation, livestock farming, plant protection, etc., attracting hundreds of participants. The Association also supplied 5 tons of Lam Thao Superphosphate fertilizer on deferred payment terms to farmers; coordinated with the Agricultural Service Cooperative to supply over 68,000 tons of fertilizer on both immediate and deferred payment terms, 1 ton of potatoes, 3.5 tons of various types of rice, more than 25,000 packets and bottles of various types of pesticides, and 2 agricultural tillage machines. In coordination with the Commune People's Committee, it established the Cao Xa Green Agricultural Cooperative specializing in the production of safe vegetables and linked production and product consumption for farmers on an area of ​​over 20 hectares. The Association effectively managed the entrusted capital of the Social Policy Bank with over 6.3 billion VND for over 148 households. The association disbursed 100 million VND from the district's farmer support fund to two households for economic development loans. Thanks to this, the association helps 1-2 member households escape poverty each year.

Through the "Farmers' Emulation Movement for Excellent Production and Business, Solidarity and Mutual Assistance for Wealth Creation and Sustainable Poverty Reduction," the spirit of diligent and creative labor has been awakened among members, thereby making a significant contribution to building advanced new rural areas, developing socio-economic conditions, and improving the lives of the people.
