This new film brings audiences back to the legendary Four Horsemen, consisting of Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Woody Harrelson – "modern-day Robin Hoods" who use stage effects to take down sophisticated criminal organizations.
In the new installment, the story expands as the Four Horsemen receive a mysterious summons leading them to an international criminal organization manipulating digital exchanges. To pull off the biggest multi-layered scam of their careers, they must team up with three young talents: Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, and Justice Smith, who possess a bold street magic style and a strong technological edge.
The film maintains its pace with spectacular magic performances, a series of twists, and a chase through multiple European cities – the very essence that has made this franchise successful from 2013 to the present.
Coming in second on the list is Paramount's remake of "The Running Man," which grossed $17 million in its opening week. The film, based on Stephen King's dystopian novel (a genre depicting a fictional place where life is extremely difficult due to deprivation or oppression), is set in the near future, where contestants participate in a brutal survival game: escaping the pursuit of professional assassins over 30 days.
Having relinquished the top spot it held last week, “Predator: Badlands” dropped to third place this week with $13 million in revenue. The science fiction -horror film, written and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, is the eighth installment in a series that began in 1987 and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.
