At the meeting, representatives of the inspection team announced the Decision to inspect the implementation of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025, specifically from January 1, 2022 to August 30, 2024 in Ninh Thuan province. Leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs reported on the implementation of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Over the past period, poverty reduction has always been a focus of leadership and direction by Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province, mobilizing the entire political system to implement it actively, synchronously, promptly, and in accordance with regulations, contributing to multidimensional and sustainable poverty reduction in localities.

The province mobilizes, utilizes, and manages resources to implement numerous projects supporting investment in socio -economic infrastructure development for poor districts, particularly disadvantaged communes, coastal areas, and islands; diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models; developing vocational education and sustainable employment; and promoting communication… helping poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households access multidimensional poverty reduction policies. The material and spiritual lives of poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households have continuously improved. The poverty reduction rate in 2022 and 2023 exceeded the set targets: 1.89% in 2022, exceeding the target by 26%; and 1.72% in 2023, exceeding the assigned plan by 25%. Despite these achievements, sustainable poverty reduction in the province still faces many difficulties and limitations, especially in allocating counterpart funds to implement the program as stipulated. Some mechanisms, policies, and regulations for implementing the program are not suitable for the actual situation in the locality…
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the inspection team for choosing Ninh Thuan as one of the localities to work with. Party committees and authorities at all levels, from the province to the grassroots, have always considered sustainable poverty reduction as a major and consistent policy; a crucial, regular, and long-term political task for the entire political system and society. The Provincial People's Committee has incorporated poverty reduction into its annual and multi-year socio-economic development programs and plans.

Through inspections, localities will gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of existing shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of poverty reduction tasks. The comrade hoped that the delegation would assist, support, guide, and suggest experiences and solutions to address bottlenecks in sustainable poverty reduction mechanisms and policies, especially those related to mobilizing and disbursing capital, training, and job creation... helping target groups access and benefit most effectively from the Party and State's poverty reduction mechanisms and policies. After working with the Provincial People's Committee, the delegation will work with several localities and units; requesting that these localities, agencies, and units prepare well to facilitate and ensure the inspection work achieves the highest possible effectiveness.
