Ms. Vo Thi Tu Anh and volunteers organized the "Charcoal Stove" program in Ninh Kieu ward.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences' student union implemented the "Charcoal Stove" program in November 2025 in Ninh Kieu ward. From early morning, Ms. Tu Anh and the students bought ingredients to make pork ribs with mushrooms. At 5 PM, Ms. Tu Anh and the volunteers transported the food portions to Bui Thi Xuan street to donate to people in difficult circumstances.

Ms. Tu Anh said: “This time, about 40 students participated as volunteers. The program contributes to educating students about the spirit of mutual support and compassion. After the program, I wrote articles and information to help lecturers, students, and philanthropists better understand the program, as well as continue to contribute and support the “Charcoal Stove” program in December.”

In early 2025, Ms. Tu Anh sought the opinion of the leaders of the Faculty of Natural Sciences to implement the "Charcoal Stove" model to support disadvantaged individuals. The Faculty of Natural Sciences' student union maintains a monthly cooking program, rotating dishes such as minced meat porridge, pasta, vermicelli soup, pork ribs with mushrooms, chicken curry, etc. The total cost of cooking each time is approximately 25 million VND.

Over the past period, Ms. Tu Anh and the School Youth Union Executive Committee have maintained many models to support disadvantaged children, students, and people in difficult circumstances, such as: "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children," "Say Hi to Mid-Autumn Festival," "Living Like Flowers," "Volunteer Spring - Loving Tet," etc. Among them, the "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children" model has been maintained for many years by the School Youth Union in coordination with various units to care for poor children and students who overcome difficulties to excel in their studies in and outside Can Tho City. In 2025, the "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children" program was organized by the School Youth Union in Luong Tam commune, providing scholarships, school supplies, candies, etc., to students, with a total amount of over 150 million VND.

Le Thanh Toan, a student majoring in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, class of 49, said: “The programs organized by Ms. Tu Anh and the Student Union have helped me understand more about difficult circumstances. From there, I actively participate in volunteer activities for the community. Ms. Tu Anh regularly helps, shares, and guides students in their studies and training. Thanks to her, I have become more mature and confident after three years of participating in the Student Union.”

In the movement to support students in their studies and scientific research, Ms. Tu Anh and the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Natural Sciences directed the English Club to organize activities to help students practice their English skills; established a Scientific Research Advisory Team in the fields of natural sciences to assist students in their initial stages of scientific research... The Youth Union proactively established a volunteer team to support new students in finding classrooms; organized academic activities to share experiences in studying and training, combined with answering questions from new students...

In October 2024, Ms. Tu Anh and the School's Youth Union Executive Committee proactively established the "Piggy Bank for Support" scholarship fund to assist students in difficult circumstances. The scholarship fund was built on the spirit of voluntary savings from Youth Union members, students, and lecturers to support poor, academically excellent students. The fund has raised over 40 million VND, supporting 5 students with 5-6 million VND each.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Tu Anh, in the 2025-2026 academic year, she and the Youth Union of the Faculty of Natural Sciences will continue to organize activities to support students in overcoming difficulties and excelling in their studies; coordinate programs and activities to help students improve their health, social skills, English language skills, and job application skills; strengthen volunteer activities for the community, and participate in environmental protection… The Youth Union will maintain effective community outreach models to support people in difficult circumstances.
