Exemplary Female President of the Elderly Association

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loi, President of the Elderly Association of Diem Sanh town, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province, is an enthusiastic and dedicated person in her work, promoting the role of a party member and exemplary association official, tirelessly contributing to building a clean and strong association. At the same time, she is a typical example of raising good children and building a cultured, happy and prosperous family.

Having worked in the medical sector, after retiring, she participated in local social work such as: Deputy Secretary, then Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet 3. In 2015, she was elected as President of the Elderly Association of Diem Sanh town. During her work, she clearly understood that the most important task is to propagate and mobilize people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and local regulations; especially studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh with specific, practical and effective actions that have been supported by the elderly association members in particular and the people in general.

On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the nation, the Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam in 2024, she proactively worked with the Standing Committee to advise and coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to promptly organize longevity celebrations for 103 elderly people thoughtfully, solemnly, and economically... Visiting, encouraging, and presenting 30 gifts to poor elderly people, elderly people in difficult circumstances, and lonely elderly people with no one to rely on in the town.

In coordination with Quang Tri Eye Hospital, the Town Health Station organizes communication consultations, Q&A on eye-related diseases and presents gifts to elderly members. Every month, the Elderly Club helps the elderly and the Town Health Station organize periodic health check-ups and tests for some common diseases in old age such as stroke, lung, blood pressure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, Parkinson's disease; vestibular syndrome, acute and chronic bronchitis, vestibular syndrome, osteoporosis, etc. In addition, she is also the Head of the Volleyball Club and the Health Club, attracting nearly 60 members to participate.

In the past time, Ms. Loi herself has also actively promoted and encouraged cadres, members of the Elderly Association and local people about the meaning, purpose and responsibility of the people to join hands and build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, contributing to making the urban appearance of the locality more and more prosperous and spacious... Accordingly, Party members and members of the Elderly Association voluntarily donated thousands of square meters of land, contributed money and working days to widen village roads and alleys; many households moved fences, broke down gates, cut down trees and crops... so that the village could build welfare and livelihood projects. When the roads were spacious and spacious, Ms. Loi and the Executive Committee of the Elderly Association of the town coordinated with the Women's Union and the Youth Union to discuss and deploy the installation of the "Lighting up the Countryside Roads" system. Thanks to that, 100% of village and street roads are equipped with electric lights at night.

In addition to contributing funds and working days to plant and take care of flower streets, each household in the residential groups also proactively cleans the village streets and alleys to make them bright, green, and clean.

With experience, life experience, and prestige in the community, the Association of the Elderly, together with the police force, departments and organizations, has deployed and mobilized members and the elderly to participate in maintaining security and order, fighting against all kinds of crimes and social evils; building a family model without anyone violating the law. Coordinate to resolve conflicts among the people right at the grassroots level, contributing to building Diem Sanh town in particular and Hai Lang district in general to be peaceful, prosperous and beautiful...

With the above achievements, for many years, the Town Elderly Association has successfully completed its tasks, always leading the activities of the District and Provincial Elderly Association. She herself has been repeatedly commended and rewarded by all levels and sectors, and her family has achieved the title of "Outstanding Cultural Family". She was honored to be elected by the Quang Tri Provincial Elderly Association and the Provincial Women's Union to attend the Conference to honor outstanding elderly women in the movement to build cultural, prosperous and happy families nationwide and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.
