A female student was beaten up by a group of students right on school grounds, in front of many other students. Instead of intervening, some students stood by, filming the incident and cheering them on.

According to Thanh Niên newspaper's investigation, the female student who was beaten by a group of students is D.TNT, a 7th-grade student at Ton Duc Thang Secondary School (Thong Nhat Ward, Gia Lai ).

Representatives from Ton Duc Thang Secondary School stated that the incident occurred on November 28th. Before the physical education class, student D.TNT was unexpectedly attacked by a group of classmates on the school grounds. A video clip recording the incident was posted on Facebook by a parent.

According to a video circulating on social media, T. was surrounded by a group of friends. Several male students loudly cheered and incited the female students to attack. Two female students suddenly rushed forward, grabbed T.'s hair, and repeatedly punched and kicked her in the head, causing her to collapse to the floor. Although T. offered little resistance, the group continued to kick her in the head multiple times.

The entire incident took place in front of many other students. Instead of intervening, many of them cheered and encouraged this act of school violence.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Principal of Ton Duc Thang Secondary School, said: "Upon receiving information about a group of students fighting, a teacher went to the gymnasium area and asked the students to go to the Principal's office to write a report. This teacher also took student T. to the infirmary for examination, applied ointment, and notified the parents of the students involved. The initial cause, according to the students' reports, was a conflict over academic matters."

According to Ms. Van, the school has summoned the students involved in the group assault to write self-criticism reports and is reviewing their behavior for the end-of-semester evaluation. The school's management also visited the family of student T. to offer condolences and encourage her to return to class.

Speaking to a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, Ms. TD, the parent of T., could not hide her outrage: “My child has been severely affected psychologically. For many days now, she has been constantly crying under the covers and doesn't dare go to school. I am cooperating with the authorities to clarify why my child was brutally beaten by a group of people.”
