By the end of August 2025, the province had about 2,300 hectares of aquaculture, of which the brackish water farming area was about 430 hectares, and the volume of offshore cages was nearly 157 thousand cubic meters.
To avoid damage during the storm season, aquaculture households in coastal communes have proactively deployed response plans.
Since the beginning of June 2025, the agricultural sector has also issued documents directing and providing specific instructions on technical measures to handle before, during and after storms for each farming area in ponds, lagoons, lakes, riverside areas, and coastal tidal flats. At the same time, it has guided localities to organize inventories and review aquaculture areas, and proactively take response measures when heavy storms occur.
Aquaculture farmers are advised to sell shrimp and fish that have reached commercial size to limit loss and economic damage when storms and floods occur.
In addition, households need to prepare food, chemicals, biological products... to care for and prevent diseases so that aquaculture can achieve high economic efficiency.
