According to statistics from the Provincial Center for Disease Control, in the first 8 months of 2025, the whole province recorded 2,857 new patients with high blood pressure, bringing the total number of detected patients to 42,290, of which 23,764 people were managed and treated, accounting for 56.2%.
In August 2025 alone, out of a total of 14,605 patients who came for medical examination and drug dispensing, 9,498 patients had treatment results that met their target blood pressure. The remaining patients are still at high risk of complications.
The most dangerous complication of high blood pressure is stroke, also known as cerebrovascular accident. However, when suffering from high blood pressure for a long time, the heart has to work harder, which can easily lead to heart disease. Not all cases of high blood pressure can lead to an increase in heart rate and vice versa due to the elasticity of the blood vessel walls. However, in some cases, blood pressure and heart rate can increase and decrease at the same time, such as: stress, alcohol use, smoking... When the heart rate increases, it will increase the risk of high blood pressure. For people who already have high blood pressure, an increased heart rate will increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Nowadays, high blood pressure is quite common in the community and tends to be younger in age, is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating scientifically , exercising regularly, limiting alcohol, quitting smoking and keeping a comfortable spirit are the keys to stabilizing blood pressure and protecting a healthy heart.
Most patients with high blood pressure cannot find the cause of the disease, so they have to live with the disease for life and use blood pressure control medication every day.
During treatment, patients must strictly follow the doctor's instructions, do not stop taking the medication or change to another medication on their own, because that not only does not improve the disease but also easily causes drug resistance, making it more difficult to control recurrent high blood pressure attacks, and can easily cause dangerous complications that affect the health and even the life of the patient.
