The new road not only expands trade but also brings new vitality to people's lives. The joy is clearly visible on the face of Ms. Hoang Lam Anh Dao (Phuoc Ha commune) shared: "Previously, this road was very bad, degraded and full of gravel, deep potholes, making it even more difficult to travel and transport agricultural products in the rainy season. Now the road is wide, clean, beautiful, and more convenient to travel. People are very happy to see their hometown developing more and more. With a big road, people can grow fruit trees, open shops, and do business more conveniently."
The route connecting the North-South Expressway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport will become a driving force for development, meeting the demand for transporting goods from the expressway to Ca Na port, while opening a link between the Southern Central Highlands and the sea. This is an important step forward for the regional and inter-regional economy in the future. Mr. Le Cong Binh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Nam commune said: "This route will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality, creating favorable conditions to effectively attract industrial, energy, and high-tech agricultural projects along the route, effectively exploiting the land fund on both sides of the road".
Creating a green look
Along with the traffic route, the Song Than reservoir project is also a key project that has been completed and handed over for use since June 25. After 7 years of implementation, the Song Than reservoir - a level II irrigation project with a total investment of more than 1,040 billion VND has been completed and started to store water. With a designed capacity of 85.04 million m3 , the reservoir is responsible for providing irrigation water for 4,500 hectares of agricultural land; providing domestic water for about 20,000 people in the downstream area; supplementing water for the following lakes: Lanh Ra, Ta Ranh, Bau Zon; controlling floods, improving the ecological environment, combining aquaculture and tourism.

As a local resident who has benefited from the project, Mr. Vo Van Tuan - a farmer in Tan Hoa village (Anh Dung commune) shared his joy: "In the past, flood season often caused landslides, causing heavy damage. Now that there is a reservoir, people feel more secure because it not only prevents floods but also has water for irrigation. With the reservoir and water, people no longer worry about drought, and will boldly invest in livestock and crop farming, expanding the cultivated area to increase income."
According to Mr. Le Sy Thang - Vice Chairman of Anh Dung Commune People's Committee, the locality has high expectations for the Song Than reservoir project, not only regulating water for production but also creating a landscape and environment to attract strategic investment and development. To anticipate development, the commune will adjust the land use planning for the period 2025 - 2030 to develop high-tech agriculture, taking advantage of abundant water resources for production.

According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in the near future, the province will deploy the construction of a canal system to transfer water from Song Than Lake to Lanh Ra Lake using AFD loan capital, expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025 to connect the lakes, bring water to areas with difficult water resources, and maximize the effectiveness of the project. Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board Pham Minh Tan said: "The two key projects in the south, including the arterial road and Song Than reservoir, not only solve urgent problems in traffic and irrigation, but also create a foundation for sustainable development. With connected traffic and stable water sources, it will create more conditions for localities in the region to break through, attract investment, form high-tech production zones, and at the same time improve people's lives. These are breakthrough projects, contributing significantly to the goal of socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving the quality of life and creating a new face for difficult lands.
