Trump reportedly accused Netanyahu of threatening the US-Iran negotiations and demanded that Tel Aviv halt its planned attack on Beirut.

Axios described this as one of the most tense exchanges between the two leaders since Trump returned to power.

The US President was furious and shouted: "What the hell are you doing? You've lost your mind. Without me, you would have been in jail. I'm saving you. Now everyone hates you and Israel because of this."

While affirming Israel's right to self-defense, the US President expressed deep concern over Netanyahu's recent escalation of asymmetric attacks, which have resulted in increased civilian casualties and the complete destruction of buildings in an attempt to eliminate Hezbollah commanders.

Recently, Israel has been continuously intensifying its bombing of areas in Lebanon believed to be targets of Hezbollah.

The country's army advanced further into southern Lebanon and occupied Beaufort Castle – a 900-year-old Crusader fortress and a strategic high point in the region.

Amid escalating tensions, Tehran threatened to withdraw from negotiations with the US, as the draft memorandum with Washington included a binding clause requiring an end to hostilities in Lebanon.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said he had spoken with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and warned that Iran's response would not stop at suspending negotiations.

"If Israel's aggression against Lebanon continues, we will not only freeze the negotiation process but will confront the enemy directly," Ghalibaf declared on social media.

On Truth Social, Trump stated: "I spoke with Bibi Netanyahu today and asked him not to launch a large-scale raid on Beirut, Lebanon," adding that the Israeli leader "has ordered a troop withdrawal."

The US president also confirmed that representatives of Hezbollah's leadership had agreed to a ceasefire against Israel.

Conversely, Netanyahu said he had informed Trump that Israel would attack Beirut if Hezbollah did not cease its aggressive actions.

"Our position remains unchanged," Netanyahu wrote, while also pledging to continue military operations in southern Lebanon "as planned."
