Mr. Vu Dai Thang holds the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

On October 26th, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel matters.

Attending the event were Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Organization Department Le Minh Hung; members of the Central Organization Department; and leaders of Quang Ninh and Quang Binh provinces.

At the conference, Central Committee member and Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department Nguyen Quang Duong announced the Politburo's decision approving the transfer of Mr. Vu Dai Thang (Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee) to the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On behalf of the Politburo, Head of the Central Organization Department Le Minh Hung presented the Decision and congratulated Mr. Vu Dai Thang on assuming his new responsibilities. According to the Head of the Central Organization Department, to ensure the direct, comprehensive, regular, and continuous leadership of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Committee of the Party over the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Politburo decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Vu Dai Thang (Member of the 13th Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee) to the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Mr. Vu Dai Thang has received basic training and has held many positions. Throughout his career, regardless of his position, he has always strived to improve himself and made positive contributions to the locality, agency, and unit.

Taking on an important task in a developing province like Quang Ninh, the Head of the Central Organization Department, Le Minh Hung, expressed his hope that Mr. Vu Dai Thang would quickly grasp the province's situation, continue to leverage his experience and capabilities, focus on resolving difficulties and shortcomings; and together with the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, unite and strive to lead the successful implementation of the resolutions of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, bringing the locality to develop into a model, prosperous, beautiful, and civilized province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Dai Thang expressed his deep gratitude to the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Organization Committee for their trust and for entrusting him with the responsibility of Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee; he also thanked the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for their trust, support, and assistance in assuming his new responsibility. He pledged to build upon the province's achievements, strive to fulfill his assigned duties well, and, together with the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, promote unity and solidarity to continue successfully achieving the goals set forth in the Party Congress Resolution and the Resolution of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress.

Mr. Vu Dai Thang, born in 1975 (from Phu Dong commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city); professional qualifications: Master of International Relations (Waseda University, Japan), Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Law; Advanced Political Theory. He previously held the position of Director of the Department of Economic Zone Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province, term 2010 - 2015.

In 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In March 2018, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment by the Prime Minister. In August 2020, the Politburo transferred and assigned him to the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Committee, and appointed him as Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.
