According to CBS News , OpenAI has just officially launched ChatGPT-5 , an AI chatbot version that is introduced as "the smartest, fastest and most useful ever".
CEO Sam Altman likens GPT-5 to a PhD-level expert, with the ability to process information more accurately, significantly reduce “delusions” and demonstrate more coherent writing ability when composing emails, reports or complex content.
Not only is GPT-5 more powerful in communication, it is also comprehensively upgraded in programming and supports answering medical- related questions.
Compared to the previous generation, GPT-5 has a significantly faster response speed and higher accuracy. According to OpenAI, the answers from GPT-5 reduce the error by about 45% compared to GPT-4o and 80% compared to the OpenAI o3 model.
This allows users to have the ability to reason in depth when needed without having to wait long for results.
Even GPT-5's conversational style has been tweaked to be “less flattering” and limit unnecessary emoji use, creating a more natural and professional feel.
Vietnamese users can now use GPT-5
Another highlight is its programming capabilities, which Altman calls GPT-5's “superpower.” During the demonstration, he asked the chatbot to create a completely new large language model in under five minutes, something he said was “unthinkable at any point in time.”
With this capability, OpenAI believes the technology will boost demand for software and create more job opportunities for programmers, rather than replace them.
GPT-5 has also shown promise in the medical assistant space, with the ability to analyze, warn of potential health problems, and interpret medical test results. However, OpenAI emphasizes that the tool is not intended to replace the professional opinion of a doctor.
What's special is that OpenAI will allow global users to access GPT-5 for free, with a mini version of GPT-5 to ensure speed when the usage limit is reached.
In addition, the company offers paid plans like Plus, Pro, and solutions for teams, businesses, or schools.
Mr. Altman said the decision to open up broad access is a concrete way to realize the mission of “putting AI to benefit all of humanity.”
Previously, OpenAI also officially introduced Study Mode in ChatGPT, a new feature designed to help students improve their critical thinking skills instead of simply searching for answers.
