According to CBS News , OpenAI has officially launched ChatGPT-5 , an AI chatbot that is touted as "the smartest, fastest, and most useful ever."
CEO Sam Altman likens GPT-5 to a PhD-level expert, with the ability to process information more accurately, significantly reduce "illusion," and demonstrate more coherent writing skills when composing emails, reports, or complex content.
Not only is GPT-5 more powerful in communication, but it also features comprehensive upgrades in programming and support for answering medical- related questions.
Compared to its predecessor, GPT-5 boasts significantly faster response times and higher accuracy. According to OpenAI, responses from GPT-5 reduce errors by approximately 45% compared to GPT-40 and 80% compared to the OpenAI o3 model.
This allows users to gain in-depth reasoning skills when needed without having to wait long for results.
Even the GPT-5's conversational style has been refined to be "less flattering" and limit the use of unnecessary emojis, creating a more natural and professional feel.

Vietnamese users can now use GPT-5.
Another highlight is its programming capability, which Altman calls GPT-5's "superpower." During the demonstration, he asked the chatbot to create an entirely new, large-scale language model in less than 5 minutes, something he considered "unimaginable at any point before."
With this capability, OpenAI believes that the technology will drive demand for software and create more job opportunities for programmers, rather than replace them.
GPT-5 has also proven its strength in the field of healthcare support, with the ability to analyze and warn of potential health problems and interpret medical test results. However, OpenAI emphasizes that this tool is not intended to replace the professional opinion of a doctor.
Notably, OpenAI will allow global users free access to GPT-5, along with a GPT-5 mini version to ensure continued speed after the usage limit is reached.
In addition, the company offers paid packages such as Plus, Pro, and solutions for groups, businesses, or schools.
Altman said the decision to open up access is a concrete way to realize the mission of "putting AI to the benefit of all humanity."
Previously, OpenAI also officially introduced Study Mode in ChatGPT, a new feature designed to help students improve their critical thinking skills instead of simply searching for answers.
